Hey everyone. If you've watched the E3 walkthrough for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Brotherhood game, then you know that Uncle Mario is dead. So, this is my tribute to a great man, and a greater Assassin.
He slowly walked through the gates of Monteriggioni, his eyes dull, limbs aching. He had failed. When he was fighting, Cesare Borgia took advantage of his blind eye, cutting the Apple from his belt, and smashing him in the head with the pommel of his sword. He had been led through the gate, and collapsed, his remaining vision blurring. Memories flew, unbidden, past his eyes. He and Giovanni, wrestling as young boys. Their years of training, their first Leaps of Faith. Giovanni had eventually left, visiting a few ties with his young children. He remembered crying silently in his office when he heard of the executions, and his joy at seeing his little nipote Ezio, not so little anymore. His pride as he watched him mature, and take on the role of Assassin. Ezio… he thought, hearing a slight tinkle of falling shingles. …There is more at stake this time than vengeance. He heard a click, and knew it was time. "I'm coming, Giovanni," he whispered.
And darkness consumed him.
Requiescat in pace, Zio Mario.
