Twilight strode up and down in front of the five other ponies. It was a warm summer's Eve in Ponyville. The glossy green leaves shone silver, reflecting the full moon.

'Alright, so, my books says that this here spot holds a portal to another world that can be unlocked with the elements of harmony. According to my research on the spot it should take us to, we'll stay ponies.' Twilight Sparkle said.

'Well, what we waiting for?' Rainbow Dash asked. Twilight used her magic to give each pony their element.

'Nothing!' Twilight said. She pointed her horn straight at the ground. It began to crack and crumble, as if something was trying to break through. The ground exploded into dust as a huge green beam of light burst through the ground. Around the beam, 10 symbols spun quickly around. They were too fast to see properly but Twilight could just make out a hand, a fish, and a pine tree. Twilight stared in horror as her and the 5 other ponies rose from the ground on green platforms that spun at a dizzying speed. Spike held tightly onto Twilight's foreleg. The forest was glowing gently green before when the beam had just burst through but now the light was blinding. The last thing Twilight Sparkle remembered she was holding onto the platform and Spike for dear life.

Twilight Sparkle screamed and sat up.

'Woah, hey, you'll wreck my hearing aid!' Someone grumbled.

'Dipper, does your book have anything on talking purple unicorn thingies?' A young female voice asked.

'Okay, one, I'm an alicorn. Two, where are we?'

'One, the book has nothing on unicorns or alicorns, two, Gravity Falls in Oregon.' A boy replied.

'Where's that?' Rainbow Dash asked.

'America.' He said.

'And that?' Applejack questioned.

'Never mind. Where are you from? Name's Dipper, by the way. This is Mabel, Soos, Wendy and Stan.'

'Ponyville.'

'Where's that?' Dipper queried.

'Equestria.' Rainbow Dash said crossly.

'And that?' Mabel asked.

'Obviously we've crossed dimensions with humans.' Twilight cut in. Dipper nodded.

'Do you know how to get back?' Wendy asked. Twilight nodded.

'But it's a riddle. I'll recite it.

Forth onepony to return home,

unmeasurable joy must be achieved.

To obtain the joy you need,

A suitor true in must you must beleive.'

'Ugh, ancienty writing.' Mabel said. Stan, obviously uninterested, grumbled and walked toward the shack door.

'Just don't let them in the house.'

'Hey, dudes, check it out! The blue one has wings!' Soos said, touching the soft feathers. Rainbow Dash spread out her wings and stood up tall.

'Sure do!' She said proudly. 'Name's Rainbow Dash by the way. That's Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie.' She added.

'And me!' Spike interrupted.

'And Spike.' Rainbow Dash said.

Fluttershy and Twilight also spread their wings. Dipper had another look at his book.

'Hey, there is a page on Equestrians. Twilight, you're an alicorn! Considered a position of royalty in Equestria, alicorns are a rare species only found in the pony dimension, where ponies rule the Earth. In the human dimension, where humans rule, alicorns are instead called pegacorns.'

'Oh, let's throw us a welcome party!' Pinkie Pie suggested, hopping in circles around Dipper. Just looking at her made him giddy.

'Not a bad idea. I'll get Grenda and Candy!' Mabel said.

'I'll get my party cannon!'

'Pinkie, uh, sorry to rain on your parade Sugarcube, but, different dimension, remember?' Applejack reminded.

'Oh well. Does your Mystery... Hack have a library?'

'We have a bookshelf. And it's just the shack, the S fell off.' Dipper replied. 'I'll show you.' He offered. Twilight followed Dipper inside. He lead her to the bedroom. Twilight used magic to pick a book.

'So your horn makes magic?' Dipper asked. Twilight nodded, her nose already deep in a book.

'What about your wings? Can you fly?' Dipper asked. Twilight lay the book on the floor.

'Not very well.' She chuckled. Dipper laughed too.

'Not at ALL well!' Spike added, shouldering the door open. He was carrying a pile of books.

'Wow, Spike, did you find a library?' Twilight Sparkle asked. He dropped the enormous pile onto the floor.

'Yea.' Spike replied. He wiped his forehead. 'I got tons of history books.'

'My sister Mabel alters her history to make it fun.' Dipper said. He was knelt on the floor, looking over Twilight's shoulder at the book she was reading.

'Hey, everything I teach is one hundred percent true!' Mabel objected, striding in. She saw the little dragon.

'Oh, he's adorable!' She exclaimed, picking up Spike and cuddling him. He blushed and grinned.

'I'm not that adorable...' He said. Usually Spike would have boldly objected. Perhaps he liked something about Mabel. Dipper took a long hard moment to think. Was it possible that Twilight loved... me?

No way. Dipper, that's crazy.

'Dipper? Hello?' Mabel said, setting Spike down.

'Huh, what?'

'You were staring at Twilight.'

'Oh, right. Sorry.' Dipper mumbled. Mabel grinned. She knew and Dipper was never going to hear the end of it. He shot her a glance.

'Well, I'd better go down for dinner. What do you guys eat?'

'Apple pie.' Twilight replied. Dipper noddedand grabbed Mabel's wrist. He pulled her out of the room.

'You totally have a crush on her!'

'She's a horse!'

'Alicorn.' Mabel corrected.

'Same thing!'

'Wow, I never thought you'd fall for someone like her!'

'Whatever! Let's just go buy an apple pie.'

Dipper picked up the two large pies and placed them on the counter.

'You two must be hungry.' The woman said.

'Well, we found these ponies in the woods and now they're...' Mabel started.

'Yea, we're just hungry.' Dipper interupted.

'That'll be $10.' The woman replied. Dipper rummaged around in his pocket and produced a note. He handed it to the lady who gave the twins the two pies.

'You two went all that way to get us pie?'

'Actually, a half mile isn't that..'

'Thank you!' Twilight said, hugging Dipper (who blushed) and tasting the apple pie. She smiled and the mane 6 gathered round to eat the pie. Spike wandered up to Mabel.

'You don't happen to have any gems, do you?' Spike asked. Dipper handed Mabel the journal.

'Have fun.' He told the two.

'I just don't get it!' Twilight said, striding around and opening piles of books. Each page flicked past like lightning.

'What does it mean? Why do I need a suitor? Is Pinkie involved in the joy thing?' She asked herself. Dipper walked into his room with a box of pizza. He ate as he thought over it himself. He grinned, but hid the smile as Twilight looked at him.

'Maybe you need to take a break from solving that riddle. Come with me.' Dipper said. Twilight followed Dipper downstairs again. Dipper helped Twilight fly up a ladder, holding onto her hoof as she attempted to fly. Finally the two emerged on Wendy's roof. Dipper got out a can of Pitt for himself and Twilight Sparkle.

'Watch the pit.' Dipper said. Twilight looked at Dipper puzzledly as she drank but soon understood when she spat out a huge peach pit.

'Well, I guess this is goodbye.' Dipper said. Once again Twilight looked confused.

'I figured out the riddle.' Dipper said sadly.

'Really?' Twilight asked. Dipper nodded.

'I never thought I would fall in love with an alicorn.' Dipper said. He looked a little angry.

'I always ruin it when I fall in love. Now you're leaving too and I can't take it. But I guess I have to let you leave. And at least I get to give you one last goodbye.' Twilight, still puzzled, stayed silent through all of this.

'You've got something I need.' Dipper said.

'In this world full of people, there's one killing me and...'

'If we only die once...' Twilight sang.

'I wanna die with you.' They both said.

'You've got some thing I need!

'I can't. You need to live your own life. Find someone from your place. So do I. For the best. Goodbye, Twilight.'

'What are you-' Her eyes widened as Dipper reached out and pulled her muzzle onto his lips. She soon calmed down and accepted Dipper's kiss. That was when she realised it; a suitor true! A guy she loved! It was really just true love's kiss! Wow... how had she missed that?

Dipper opened his eyes, and smiled sadly. This was it. He touched her hoof one last time. Then Twilight Sparkle disappeared.

A few hours later, Mabel came up.

'And as soon as we found a gem, Spike just disappeared!' Mabel exclaimed.

'I figured out the riddle. It was true love's kiss.' Dipper replied. He looked sad that his true love was gone.

'Hey, I feel ya, brobro.'

'Thanks, Mabel.'

'Hush now, dear.' Rarity said, dabbing a hanky to Twilight's eyes.

'He had something I needed.' Twilight sang quietly.

'One day, I'll see him again. I can feel it.' Twilight Sparkle murmured.
