Authors Note: My longest fic yet! I want to say thanks to Bluewolfbat for ideas, and help with a few dialogue. I hope you all like it.

"Alvin... time to wake up."

I leaned upwards in a groggy like motion, not wanting to get up. "C'mon Alvin, Theodore is making waffles. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to miss out on those, now would you?" Simon told me in a manipulative voice. "Leave me alone Simon, I'll get there, when I get there!" I rebutted, not wanting to get up right away.

"Okay, have it your way then, but don't be surprised when there is no more waffles left." With that, Simon left the room.

I then decided to exit my plaid colored room. At the top of the stairs, I smelled the aroma of the toaster waffles. I hopped down the stairs and ate the waffles. They were good, especially since they had whip cream on them. Luckily, it was Saturday, so there was no rush for anything, though Dave had work to do, so he left.

After some video games, which lasted for an hour, we had some lunch. It was grilled cheese made with tomato soup, something I always enjoyed.

A few hours later, Theodore came in and asked, "wanna play a game with me and Simon?"

"Sure," I replied politely. We then ran off to our room. "Hi Si," I said as I entered the room.

"Hey Alvin, can't decide what to play, how about you choose?"

"They call me the chosen one for a reason," I replied, earning a snicker from both Simon and Theodore. "Whatever, just choose."

"Okay, lets play umm, tag?"

"Sounds good, didn't know ya had it in ya," Simon chuckled.

"Hey!" I exclaimed after realizing what my younger brother said.

After a hour of playing tag, I perked my ears. "I think Dave is home from work," I proclaimed as I climbed up my messy bed to get a good look out my window. "Nope," I said back as my foot caught in the red bed sheet and tumbled to the ground. "You ok Alvin? Simon said, not bothering to look what even happened. When I got up, Theodore`s eyes had dilated to twice as large.

"Gh-Ghost!" Theodore screamed. I tried telling him it was me, but it was no use. I struggled in the red sheets, trying to reach him, along with Simon. I saw him run out the room. We chased him to the guest room, me still in the red bed sheet and then to the bathroom, we still couldn`t get to him. He then disappeared from my sight.

I suddenly heard something crashing down into multiple surfaces.

I ran as fast I can, but to no avail. I kept tripping over the red bedsheet, then felt Simon grabbing my hand and pulling me out, facing in the direction of the stairs. I could hear a soft whimper, as if.. as if..,Theo! I ran down the stairs, but was stopped by Simon. "Don't you think you caused enough harm?"

"What do you mean? It was on accident!"

"You lie like a rug! I know you pretended to be a ghost on purpose. You should have known better!" He shouted, halfway down the stairs to help our youngest brother.

Simon went down the stairs, thinking fast and called Dave on his cell phone.

"Hello? Dave speaking," the Chipmunks guardian said answering his phone.

"Hi Dave. I'm sorry to disturb you, but we got a problem at home. Theodore broke his leg," Simon replied.

"What? How did Theodore break his leg?" Dave asked surprised.

"Well you see, we were playing tag in our room and Alvin thought it would be fun to scare Theodore by pretending to be a ghost under his bed sheets. Theodore of course got scared and ran away. I tried to catch up to him so I could comfort him, but while Theodore was scared, he fell down the stairs in the process and broke his leg. He's here with me right now," Simon explained. Dave let out a frustrated sigh on the other side of the phone before talking again.

"Okay. Simon try to heal Theodore's leg as best you can. Be careful and make sure Theodore is okay. I'm coming home so I can help him," Dave responded. After that, Simon and Dave said goodbye and hung up their call.

"Alvin you are in so much trouble! Poor Theodore," Dave muttered as he headed out to his car.

I walked to my room, wondering why Simon was mad at me.

Does he ever believe me, or is he just too mad to think rationally?

Know what? I don't care. As long as I know I'm telling the truth, why does it matter? I thought, regaining my long needed confidence.

I lost it again when I heard the front door slam shut.

"Alviiiiiiiiiiiiiin!"

I ran downstairs once I heard my name. Dave looked at me with an angry expression on his face.

"Alvin, sit on the couch. Now!" Dave shouted. I did as I was told while Simon joined him, and Dave took Theodore up to his bedroom.

"I hope you're satisfied, Alvin! Once again, one of your absurd, childish schemes has cause Theo and I to have to clean up your mess, and now Theodore has a broken leg!" Simon snapped.

"Simon, how many times to I need to repeat myself; it was an accident!" I retorted. Soon, Dave came back downstairs and into the living room.

"Okay, Simon is what you told me on the phone true?" Dave asked seriously.

"Yes Dave," Simon replied. The chipmunk was now nervous if Dave was mad at him too.

"Well, thank you for telling me what happened. Go hang out with Theodore," Dave responded. Simon thanked him, and ran upstairs. As Dave looked at me again, his face expression grew mad.

"Alvin! What were you thinking?!" Dave scolded.

"Dave, you don't understand. Simon misunderstood. I got stuck under my bed sheets and was trying to get out, not scare Theodore!" I replied truthfully.

"I find that hard to believe considering all of the other times you've scared your little brother for fun. Remember 'The Jungle Monster Four'?" Dave said in an upset voice.

"Yes, but this time I wasn't doing it on purpose. It was an accident!" I retorted.

"Yeah an accident that made Theodore break his leg! If you hadn't done that bed sheet ghost trick of yours, Theodore would be just fine!" Dave shouted.

"Dave, please. I didn't want this to happen!" I pleaded.

"Enough, Alvin! I am disappointed in you. You are grounded for two weeks which means no electronic games or TV and you need to apologize as well as make it up to Theodore. Am I clear?" Dave responded, still angry.

Yes. But Dave..." I started until he was interrupted.

"No 'But Dave'. I don't want to hear excuses, Alvin. Now think about what you did, and then when you are sorry, go apologize to Theodore," Dave said before heading off into the kitchen to call the vet.

A few moments later, we were all heading to the vet to get Theo`s leg treated. Once in awhile, I could see Simon giving me an angry look. He was supporting Theo in the front seat, while I was in the backseat as if I was a contagious disease. I just wish Simon would at least let me help support Theo, but I guess I have to wait until he is not around.

A few minutes later, we were at the vets. We all sat down, me next to Theo, with Simon on the other side. Dave soon finished writing the patient application and handed it into the clerk. "Okay, a veterinarian should come get you in a few." She told him.

"Okay, thanks," Dave replied, heading back towards the chipmunks.

Just when everyone got bored, they finally came.

"Theodore Seville?" The nurse asked, reading off her paper. We all solemnly got up and followed her to the room where Theodore would be treated.

When we got onto the operating table, the vet told us that he would like it more if only Theodore was on it. Me and Simon moved to the chair next to him, while Theo laid on his back so the vet could get a better look at his leg.

"So how you been Simon?" I decided to say, see if he was at least not mad at me anymore.

"Don't talk to me Alvin." Simon replied sternly.

Sheesh, he still not over it.

"You gotta admit, that bedsheet ghost was funny. Well, before Theo got hurt," I said, hoping to lightening up his mood.

"Nothing about it was funny, not before, and not after the incident." He rebutted in the same tone.

"Maybe you should try to calm yourself, it would make us all feel better."

"Why? You injured Theo, on purpose!"

At this point, Theodore was covering his ears.

"I told you before, it was on accident!" I replied with as much enthusiasm I could muster.

"As if believe you did it on accident! You done this countless times! You know how annoying it is? To be scared almost every other day? Using your own bedsheet this time is not an excuse! In fact, it just enhances the proof that you did it on purpose!" He nearly screamed at me.

"Well this time I tripped! I don't have any control beyond that to what happens! I tried to tell him but he ran off! I couldn't get out of the sheet, I struggled with it, and I know you know that much of it because you came and got me out!"

"You-"

"Alvin! Simon! Quit it!" Dave whispered to us in a frustrated manner, interrupting Simon. For the remaining time, and the occasional "ow" from Theo, they were finally ready to head home. Me, Simon, and Theodore, with his new crutches, went to wait in the waiting room to wait for Dave to sign the sign out sheet. "Thanks," Dave said, looking towards us, which gives us the hint that it is time to go. We go to the car, me and Simon hop in, Dave helps up Theodore and then finally gets in the driving seat. We then leave for home.

When we arrived home, Dave made late night dinner. It was hot dogs with mac' and cheese. I could still feel tension around the whole table as we ate. Simon sat on the other side of me, Theodore sat to my left, and Dave sat to my right. I could yet again find Simon staring at me with disgust.

When does he ever let go? I thought with a chuckle.

"What?" Simon fiercely said, noticing my chuckle.

"Uh, nothing." I replied. After that, we hastily ate our dinner and left for the living room. I was stopped by Dave.

"You, go to your room, now."

"Why?" I replied, surprised.

"Because I said so, and you're grounded from watching TV. Now go."

"Ok, Dave," realizing I was going to lose that one anyways.

I walk up the steps and into my room.

Why will no one believe me? I wondered in my head. It was an accident, and it most definitely was funny!

Downstairs

"Simon?"

"Yeah, Dave?"

"I do not want to see any more arguing like that in public ever again. Consider this a warning."

"Sorry Dave, I have just been stressed lately. I`m going to go take a shower."

"That would probably be best."

Dave and Theodore were the last ones in the room.

"Why don't you go get your pajamas on Theo, so you don't have to worry about it later."

"Sure thing, Dave," Theo replies, grabbing his clutches and headed towards the room.

"Want me to help you up the steps Theo?" Dave asked politely. "Sure," Theo accepted. Dave offered his hand, Theo got on it, and Dave airlifted him to the top of the steps."Thanks Dave!"

"You're welcome."

Chipmunks Room

I was laying down on my bed when I heard the door open. I could tell it was my youngest brother due to the extra sound that came from his clutches. I then hear him switch his outfit to his pajama one. Then right when I hear the doorknob turn, I called out to him. "Hey Theodore?"

"Yeah, Alvin?"

"Can I talk to you for a second? I have something I need to say." I said, almost in a pleading like manner.

"Sure," he said.

"I just wanted to apologize for what I did. It really was on accident Theo, and I'm not lying. Yeah, I do it all the time, but just because I do it all the time, don't mean there are no such things as accidental ones. I hate to see you in pain like this, and all because of the accident, and for that, I'm sorry."

"It's ok Alvin, I forgive you." He replied back.

"You're still my little bro, and I still love you," I said, giving him a hug with my confidence back, knowing he has forgived me.

As he was about to leave, "I almost forgot my crutches!" He proclaimed. He then started to look for it. He found it shortly, but my red bedsheet was on top of it, and by the looks of it, the crutches were the only thing keeping it up there. As soon as he grabbed it, I noticed the bedsheet started to hover over him. "Watch out!" I nearly yelled, right when it covered him. I could hear a voice, which sounded muffled.

"Alvin? Where did you go?" He peeped. He started running as best he could with his broken leg. I went in after him, hoping saving him would make up for me accidentally causing him to break his leg. As soon as I got to him, I grabbed his arm and started to lead him back to where I entered. We finally got out, and we both said good night and he left for the living room.

A few minutes later, I was back to laying on my bed, with a smile on my face. Soon I heard the door agin, this time Simon. I just kept my back turned and he eventually got dressed and left. I heard him go back downstairs to join Dave and Theo.

Downstairs

Simon decided to sit next to Dave.

"Hey Dave? I've been thinking in the shower, and do you think that Alvin was telling the truth?"

"I don`t know Simon, that's what I'm askin myself. He usually admits it, but he never did this time. Maybe he put the sheet over himself on purpose, and just not expected Theodore`s reaction to it. I guess it just goes to learn that you can never predict the actions of others." Dave said, sounding unsure if he said it right or not.

"Yea, but he should have known he was at least going to run away, right? He had to, he done it countless times, and Theo ran off on each one." Simon said, feeling a little sympathetic.

"Well, I don't know. Maybe Alvin did it purpose, maybe he did it on accident. Either way, he still indirectly injured Theo."

"Yea, but there`s a big difference whether it was an accident or not. If he did it on accident, then we treated him too harsh, if he did it on purpose, then he got what he deserved."

"You're right, Simon." Dave said, with a nod of approval from Simon.

"Well, I`m off to bed. Today has been extraordinarily long. Good night Simon and Theo." Dave said, giving them each a gentle hug.

"Good night Dave!" They both chirped back in unison.

"Hey Simon?"

"Yeah, Theo?"

"Can you help me up the stairs so I can go to bed too?"

"Sure thing, little bro," Simon said, helping Theo up the steps and hugging at the top.

"Good night," they both said to each other, before Theo entered the room, hearing an already sleeping Alvin. Later that night, Simon followed suit and fell asleep on his bed.

The next morning, I was up earlier than my brothers. Sleeping early does have benefits, I thought to myself. I got up and went downstairs, where Dave was sipping on coffee.

"Morning Alvin, surprised to see you up this early, did you sleep well?" He asked.

"Sure did Dave, and all thanks going to bed earlier than usual," I said with optimism. "Well, I'll be cooking breakfast here shortly, pancakes and eggs good enough for ya?"

"Yep," I said, heading to sit on the couch.

Soon enough, Simon and Theodore woke up. We all ate our pancakes and eggs on the table, and everyone but me decided to go out and watch TV on the couch. I then decided to sit on the couch, watching Dave fold the laundry.

Soon enough, Dave asked, "Hey Simon, help me do laundry please."

"Sure thing, Dave," Simon answered enthusiastically. Simon then proceeded to fold some of our signature sweaters. Simon then decided to fold one of Dave's white bedsheets. After he tried picking it up, it slipped out of his fingers and landed right on top of him. He then just started wondering around. I could see Theo collecting his clutches and went as fast as he could into the kitchen. Simon was still wondering, while Dave was unaware that the sheet was missing, so he didn't spare a thought about it. I could then hear Simon getting frustrated.

Can't get out the sheet, can you? I thought to myself, giving out a small chuckle. He heard me and wondered over close to the bottom of the couch, bumping into it. I thought nothing of it until I felt something grab my arm, pull me off the couch, and into the bed sheet. Next thing I know, he was out, and I was in.

"Hey!" I proclaimed.

I could now hear Simon chuckling, Dave still completely oblivious since he was still humming and folding blankets and his clothes. I took my chance and pulled Simon in, and escaped. I turned him around and he was yet again wondering off. I could see Theo peeking in the corner, supported by his crutches.

"I believe I had a bedsheet, but I guess not," Dave claimed. As he got up though, he saw the sheet. "Oh there it is-wait, what's that lump?" He questioned. He pulled up the sheet and it revealed Simon. I bursted out laughing, Hhis facce was as of shock. He just looked at me and laughed back. Theodore came in and hugged Simon. When he got done, he came to me and hugged me too. "Sorry about being a stickler, Al. I was just too stressed over the whole situation." He said apathetically. "It's ok bro,"I said back, accepting his apology. Just then, Theodore came in between us and we grouped hug.

Dave smiled.
