Story Title: Darkness into Light.
Warnings: None.
Rated: 'T' just for safety.
A/N: Hey everyone. I just thought of something- I've never really written a story for Rua yet, have I? So what better way to write my 60th story, then a new challenge? This is not a romance story, nor is it a sibling-light story. I really, REALLY hope I grasp Rua's character here- I'm not really used to writing his character very much. Seriously, the boy had the most character development in the entire series (not including Jack, but he still turned out to be an ass in the end) so I hope that I write him in character.
~Darkness Into Light~
He was terrified of what was about to happen.
Rolling winds had injured his sister and his role model all in the same turn. All he could do was watch them fall to the ground, a lifeless sound emerging from their hearts. What could he do at that moment? Nothing, for no card in his current deck could match up to that monstrosity of a duel monster. All he could do was let his eyes shimmer in pain and anguish.
And when it hit them, all he could do to help was fall on his knees, and let the tears flow.
It was remarkably similar to his opponent's childhood tragedy, however that was when Rua refused to give up hope and refused to give into despair and anguish. He refused to let a childish fear of defeat embrace his whole life. He needed to protect his feelings, his sister- everybody that he ever cared for rested on this duel!
He would protect them.
Even at the cost of his life.
It was true that he had been immature before...but he had decided to grow up. A certain teal-haired sibling needed him to protect her- so the male twin had decided to change himself to protect her from any more harm that may come her way. However, in order for the future to move forward- he could only afford to protect her for one last time, and he wanted to convey what he needed to show her and the rest of the world.
"Ancient Fairy Dragon! Protect Ruka for me!"
And with that, he world went black.
Consuming shadows snatched his soul spitefully from his body and into the depths of despair. He was a child, a mere child. Why wasn't God taking pity on him? Why was God allowing these creatures to torment him so much that he wanted to curl up and cry?
No...
No more despair...
No more darkness...
"NO!" He screamed, allowing the light coming from an eternally sunlit meadow to flow through his body, and surged him into the power that he needed for his heart to get pumped up and working to it's ultimate level again.
Heart...
"I'm...a signer? I have the same powers as Yusei, Jack and the others?" Golden eyes shining, he got the answer from Ancient Fairy Dragon, and it preserved his innocence and life once again- he shouldn't have to die for a long, long time.
He would protect them.
He came from the Darkness Into The Light.
And that made him feel that he could do anything.
A/N: Meh. Suckish, I hate this drabble so much! Ugh. Ah well, please leave feedback!
