Summary: What if Jim went down with Spock to Vulcan? [K/S; warning-death]
**_**
"Spock you can't do that!" Kirk raged, eyes burning as the Vulcan Captain began to energize. No one has every denied Kirk's ability to move like a shadow on the wall, but Spock finds himself oddly surprised when – in the middle of a transport – a thick, warm, hand connects with his shoulder, and another body is caught in the transport to Vulcan.
Jim looked around the wasted remains of a crumbling world. Spock cocked an eyebrow and performed the natural human ritual of the 'death-glare' and Jim understands why Vulcan's are feared. That and the uber strength make for a deadly combination.
They move silently, Spock is sure if he talks he will end up yelling and screaming and kissing Jim to death (because Spock is so well aware of his connection to Jim, he feels it burn within his body and he wants Jim so badly that it kills him.)
The Catric Arc is a tall, beautiful structure, haunting and elegant in all it's falling glory.
"Vulcan is being destroyed, we have seconds left, we must evacuate." Spock is in control and perfect in his Vulcan ways, Jim on the other hand is motioning rapidly calling, "Move it people! We gotta go, now!"
"Mother!" Spock grasped the hand of his beautiful mother and Jim can see the love burning blindly within Spock's brown eyes. The group moves swiftly, ambling and dodging the flying debris, losing several members en route.
"Enterprise, beam us up." Jim hisses into his communicator as the Vulcan's watch their world burn. Chekov's young voice bleeps in and they remain as still as stone.
Jim sees Spock's mother turning back, a horrific knowledge in her eyes as the ground gives way beneath her feet. The First Officer's/Future Captain's hand reaches out like a viper to grasp the very warm, very human hand as the two are pulled down to the black hole.
"MOTHER! JIM!" Spock wails, thick with regret and anger bubbled down into pain and anguish.
When he arrives back to the Enterprise – hand still outstretched to reach the ones he knows he cannot get back – he vows to kill Nero. He wants to tell them all to stop looking at him like that, tell them to get back to work, to kill Nero, to avenge his love and his mother.
But all he can do is stare at the two empty transport pads where his beloved Mother and his t'hy'la should be standing.
