Caddence Mare
My name is Phoebe Moore but I'm Caddence Mare onstage. Well, I don't like publicity so I'm disguising myself. My best friend, Glory
Simpson, knows about it but let me tell you about the time she found out.
I was coming back from the bathroom after my performance. I walked in wearing my blue bathrobe, flip-flops and a ski-cap to cover my black
hair. I was looking for a top to wear home when suddenly, Glory screamed at me from behind, "Caddence Mare!" I jumped and screamed and
turned, only to face Glory right in the face. I hurried into the toilet, locked the door and said in a high-pitched voice, "Go away!" "Oh, I just
wanted an autograph. Um… why is your voice so high?" I answered quickly, "Well, uh, it's because of laryngitis which happens every time."
"Oh… ok. Well, can I have your autograph please?" Just then, a thought struck me, well, since she's my best friend, I should tell her. I took a
deep breath and opened the door and faced her. "Hey." She gasped and pulled my cap off. "Phoebe?" She stuttered. "Yeah." I said.
Minutes later, I began to regret telling her about my secret because she started treating me differently and calling me Caddence. I couldn't t
ake it anymore. "See? I know that you would act like this! You called me Caddence!" "Sorry! I didn't mean to! Sorry! It's hard and big news
you know?" "So? It shouldn't make any difference!" With that, I stomped off.
The next morning, there was a knock on the door. "Come in." I muttered and continued mashing my cereal. "Hey, can I talk to you?" "To who?
Caddence or Phoebe?" I grumbled. "Um…Phoebe. Look, I'm sorry okay? If anybody treats us badly, I would feel like screaming, "That's
Caddence Mare! But I wouldn't because you are my friend!" I smiled at her and we hugged each other tightly. "Friends?" She asked, hand
extended. "Friends." I replied and shook on it.
