DISCLAIMER: The Veritas Project is not mine.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: This is kind of a "missing scene" from Nightmare Academy. Of course, there are minor spoilers. It picks up right after Elijah shuts down the demolition. I am also working on a "missing scene" for Hangman's Curse, but this one was posted first because it's shorter. I also felt the need to start some Veritas Project fanfic. So if you've had some ideas brewing…WRITE!!! I am lobbying FF.Net to make a category.

ARCHIVES: So far I haven't found any Veritas Project fansites, but if you have one or know of one let me know so I can drop by!
REUNITED
"Elijah!" Sarah screamed as she saw her son running out of the building.
"Elijah! Over here! This way!" Nate hollered, waving his arms crazily.
Elijah followed the voices to his distraught-looking parents standing about twenty feet away. "Mom! Dad!" He yelled as best he could, running over. Where's Elisha? He thought, glancing around the schoolyard.
"Elijah! Elijah!" Elisha tore herself free from Nate's arms and bolted towards her brother. She ran into him full speed, knocking him right to the ground and nearly causing him to throw up for the fourth time that day. With some effort, Elijah sat up and returned his sister's fierce embrace.
"Elijah! Oh, baby, are you OK?" Sarah cried, sitting down next to him and wrapping him into a huge hug. Elijah was being crushed by hugs from all sides.
"I'm OK, Mom." Elijah said tiredly, resting his exhausted head on his mother's shoulder. Oh, thank You, Jesus. He tugged one arm free and accepted a warm hug from his father. "You sure you're all right, son?" Nate asked.
Elijah nodded. "I'll be OK."
"I thought you were gone." Elisha wept. "I thought…like Alvin Rogers…I thought you'd lost your mind." She finished in a whisper.
"I'm here now, all right?" Elijah said gently. "OK? Nothing happened to me. God protected me and got me out alive."
Elisha nodded and dropped her head against his chest. "I love you, Elijah."
Elijah hugged her tighter, tears stinging at his eyes. "Love you too, Elisha." He choked out.
Nate rose to his feet. "Come on, Springfields, let's get out of here." He said. "Let's go home."

And that, I guess, is the end. I know it's short. The Hangman's Curse fanfic, Seven Days, will be coming as soon as I have spare time. It should be longer. Until then, sayonara! (Goodbye in Japanese)
