Summary: Drusilla likes playgrounds.

Drusilla liked playgrounds. She'd always liked playgrounds, even when they weren't called that. There were always places where children would play, and sometimes, they would play too late.

She'd swing and wait for them, laughing with the stars on nights their mummies remembered to call them home. Talking to them, and then feeding from them, on the nights their mummies forgot. They tasted so young and so pure; and no one in town would suspect anything odd. Silly mummy forgot to call her child home after dark. Forgot to protect them from the "bad people" out at night.

Then there was the added delight of Spike, who took pleasure in torturing the children forgotten by their mummies. The number of reports of merry-go-rounds at playgrounds sucking children under them and dragging them to death was greatly influenced by Spike, who found it amusing that humans would build such a dangerous device. Drusilla often had to calm his torturous urges so she would be able to feed from the child. Spike's murders, although amusing, were far too messy for dinner.

Sometimes, although not very often, she would take one or two children home to play with. They needed a better mummy, who would not let them out at night. This went along fine until they no longer showed interest in her dolls and her tea parties, or until she forgot about them and they starved to death. Spike would console her, and then take the bodies to the playground they came from and set the whole place on fire.

Drusilla stopped visiting playgrounds after she met the changed Angelus there, and he scolded her for taking children. Now every time she sees children at play, she remembers him, and how much fun he used to be. He would have enjoyed playgrounds, too. Maybe someday, she'll get the real Angelus back, and they can go to the playground together.
