Author's Note: Those who are Doctor Who fans might recognise this song from the 2006 Christmas special – The Runaway Bride. It's called 'Love Don't Roam' and it's on the first Doctor Who soundtrack, not the one with Martha 'Moper' Jones on but the one with Rose.
Her eyes closed and her head lolled to one side. That could only mean one thing.
Well I've roamed about this Earth
With just a suitcase in my hand
And I've met some bug eyed Joes
I've met the blessed I've met the damned
But of all the strange, strange creatures in the air at sea or land

He prayed to the Gods, any and all. It wasn't supposed to turn out like this; this wasn't how their story was supposed to go was it?
"Master?" Much broke in gently. "She's gone."
"She can't be, Marian wake up. Marian?" No one dared intervene. He travelled when they should've married and now he could never forgive himself.
So reel me in my precious girl
Come on take me home
Cause my body's tired of travelling
And my heart don't wish to roam
Djac bent down and placed a hand on Robin's shoulder. He looked up at her bloodshot eyes and finally understood that the only thing they could do for Marian was to avenge her death.
That was the only thing he could do for Marian and if heaven would allow, he would meet with her once he had completed his role.
I have wandered, I have rambled
I have crossed this crowded sphere
And I've seen a mess of problems that I long to disappear
And now all I have's this anguished heart
For you have vanished too

They were married, and he was now a widower.
Djac handed him a small pouch. Robin looked at it confused.
"She wanted you to have this if anything ever…" She trailed off unable to finish her sentence. Robin pulled the strings of the pouch and tipped the contents into his hand. His breath caught in his throat as he saw what it was.
"Thank you Djac." He took off his tags and slipped the item onto it. He then placed his tags around his neck. Watching as the sun glinted off the weathered betrothal ring.
So reel me in my precious girl
Come on take me home
Cause my body's tired of travelling
And my heart don't wish to roam
Gisborne didn't understand that she didn't – couldn't – love him. He never saw passed his own desires.
Why did Marian have to taunt him? She'd still be with them if she hadn't taunted him.
At least Marian's final act on this Earth had been marrying him. In that sense Gisborne hadn't won.
Well you took me, in you stole my heart
I cannot roam no more
Because love it stays within
It doesn't wash up on a shore
He looked across the expanse of desert before him.
"I love you Marian, and I will see you soon." A cooling breeze swept over him, he felt a small kiss brush his cheek. A small tear slipped down his cheek in reply.
At least she was safe now and among her family and her extended family. They would treat her well until they met again.
And a fighting man forgets

A/N: I absolutely hate that last ep of Robin Hood talk about changing the legend of Robin Hood! How can you have a next series without 4 characters (Marian's father is one of the four)! I just can't believe they killed an essential character MARIAN!
