The Metallic Menace of Mobius

A few weeks after the most recent defeat of the Eggman Empire, all seems well as the world has been saved. But that all changes when a new super-powered foe appears. A planned day of relaxation turns into an all-out race to find the Seven Chaos Emeralds. (There's a lot of action and not a whole lot of deep story, by the way. Just a warning if you're not into that type of fanfic.)

It was a beautiful day in Green Hill when Sonic sped through the grassy plains, leaping over spikes and spin-dashing through most of the robots he came across. "Huh, Egghead must be up to somethin' again," Sonic thought to himself while traversing the checkerboarded hills. Eventually, a red and white biplane began flying over the hills, which Sonic immediately recognized as the Tornado. "Hey, Sonic!" Tails yelled down at Sonic from the Tornado in a successful attempt to get his attention. "Yeah, what is it?" Sonic began running backward with his arms crossed, looking up at the biplane. "Eggman's back again, and it looks like he's got stronger forces than ever!" Tails yelled down at Sonic, slowly piloting the Tornado to be closer to the ground. "Well, it can't be much stronger than his last attack," Sonic responded to Tails, cocky as ever as he jumped up and stomped on a badnik. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's blast through his new army with Sonic speed! Yeah!" Sonic nearly doubled his speed as he blasted through a wall, with Tails piloting the Tornado following close behind.

Meanwhile, Doctor Eggman was inside a nearly pitch-black laboratory, holding a magenta colored jewel as he walked past multiple different test tubes holding several robots. "Silver Sonic, Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic…" the Doctor spoke to himself as his footsteps echoed throughout the lab. "..All these robots created, and none of them beat that blasted hedgehog in the end." He stopped to look at a table with a silver metallic helmet. "The closest I came to defeating him and his friends was with the Jackal, and now he's gone." Eggman then turned away to face a door that led into another room. "ORBOT! CUBOT!" Eggman yelled out towards the door, as two robotic voices could be heard from inside the room. "What's up?" A yellow and black cube-shaped robot hovered out of the room as the doors opened while a red and black circular one followed behind, holding a box of mechanical parts. "I need both of you.." Eggman began to speak, "..to create another prototype." "Ugh, again..?" Orbot muttered to himself. "Roger that!" Cubot saluted Eggman, before hovering back into the previous room while Orbot flew into a separate one.
