Chapter 1

"I'm what?!" a girl yelled.

"You will be given the chance to go to a nice school and can make new friends. You cannot blame me for the circumstances. I accepted the offer knowing that we would be taken care of!" a slightly older girl said.

"But Kirumi! I don't want to go to some fancy school! Let alone one with her," the girl yelled. This child was named Kurenai. She had short black hair and was 16 years old. Her sister was forcing her to go to a school called Ouran. The worst part was they would be live in maids for her enemy. Madoka Otu. The reason Kurenai lived with her sister was that they were both orphans. Their mother had left and their father had done terrible things. So, they ran.

"You don't have a choice! I know you don't like her but we may never get another opportunity like this again! Suck it up and deal with it for fuck's sake!" The older sister, Kirumi, said. Kurenai sighed and flopped onto her bed. She stuffed her face in her sweater sleeves.

"We leave in three days...Get packing..." Kirumi said as she slammed her bedroom door shut and walked away. This was going to be a long year for the sisters...

Three Days Later...

It had finally come time for Kirumi and Kurenai to move into Madoka's mansion.

"What. The. Actual. Fuck?" Kurenai whispered as they entered the large estate.

"We welcome you," a man said. This was Tashiro Otu, Madoka's wealthy father.

"Please follow us to the housekeepers quarters," another maid said. As the girls followed, Kurenai was given some school papers. She put them on a desk in their room and sat on her bed.

"This is honestly going to be the death of me," she sighed.

"It's better than nothing. Now go take a shower and get ready for bed," Kirumi said.

"What! It's not even eight yet!" Kurenai complained.

"You have to get up early for school," Kirumi said. Kurenai sighed and got into the bathroom to take a shower.

"I swear...these damn rich people..."

The Next Day

"Good morning," Kirumi said to Kurenai who had just woken up.

"Yeah. Yeah...Let's just get this damn day over with," she said as she changed into a black hoodie with a blue T-shirt underneath and a pair of black jeggings.

"You're wearing that?" Kirumi asked.

"Get off my back for once," Kurenai messed around with her hair until it was just curly fluff sitting on top of her head.

"I don't understand why you had to cut your hair like that," Kirumi said. She pulled her long black hair into a ponytail.

"Here we go again...You nag me about everything! Are you thinking you can take over for mom now?" Kurenai said. She quickly realized what she said.

"Don't you dare. I have helped us get through more than you ever had! If it weren't for me being able to get a job then you wouldn't be able to go to school! You're smart, Kurenai! I'm not letting you waste that!" Kirumi spat. Kurenai's eyes softened into tears.

"I'm not smart..." Kurenai pouted.

"What! Yes, you are! You love science!" Kirumi laughed.

"Yeah! When I was 12! I haven't been able to do anything with it since sixth grade!" Kurenai got a hug from her sister.

"Just do your best," she said. Kurenai then left for school without saying a word. She took a cab to the front gates where she had to go from there.

"Ok, Mr. Schedule. Let's see where you will lead me..."

As she walked the giant halls, she got a lot of stares from other people. As she walked she finally found her classroom. She was lucky that she didn't have to be in a class with Madoka until later in the day. She took a deep breath before opening the door and walking in.

"Oh. You must be the new student. Kurenai?" the teacher asked. Kurenai nodded. "Take a seat in the back," Kurenai did as she was told and walked to the back of the room. She was sitting next to a boy with brown hair. He looked at her for a bit before turning away.

Later...

Kurenai had her just finished her last class period. She was walking out of the classroom when she bumped into someone.

"Oh, sorry," She said rubbing her nose.

"Well well...Look at this! It's little Kurenai," Said the girl she bumped into. It was in fact Madoka.

"Madoka...Hi..." she and Kurenai had been friends when they were really little but over time they grew apart. In middle school, Madoka bullied Kurenai for no apparent reason. She had long blonde hair and was wearing a big poofy yellow dress. She had two girls behind her.

"You know each other?" a girl next to Madoka asked.

"Yeah...Why are you here? I thought only the rich could go here? Maybe the school is lowering its standards too much..." Madoka said.

"You know the reason," Kurenai mumbled.

"Oh! That's right! You work for me now! Hahaha!" Madoka laughed and Kurenai felt like punching her in her snobby little nose. "Since you're under my control now, hold these. They're heavy," she said plopping down large textbooks into Kurenai's arms. The poor girl nearly fell over. She followed Madoka around the hallways as she talked with her friends. They talked about going to some place called a host club. They stopped in front of music room #3. They opened the doors and walked in. Somehow flower petals flowed around them. Kurenai didn't see a fan and wondered how they got the petals to do that...She looked around the room and saw glitter everywhere along with seven boys in the middle of the room.

"Welcome ladies!" they sang.

"Ah, Ms. Otu! Welcome," one boy with glasses said. He had dark hair, was slim, and tall.

"Hello, boys! I hope you don't mind that I brought my stupid servant...My parents insisted on it," Madoka sighed.

"No worries!" a guy with blonde hair said as he grabbed Madoka's hand and pulled her away. Madoka's lackeys were taken off by other guys and Kurenai was left alone. She sighed and sat the books down on a counter by the door. She rested her head on her fist and sighed. Kurenai noticed the brunette from her class earlier. She nodded and looked in the other direction. He held out a hand.

"I'm Haruhi," he said. When Kurenai didn't answer he retracted his hand and sweatdropped. The twins of the group walked over to Kurenai.

"You're new here aren't you?" one of them asked,

"So? What if I am?" Kurenai asked getting slightly irritated. Madoka was also getting upset that she was getting more attention.

"Kurenai! Bring me my bag. I need to text my father," she said. Kurenai got up and brought over Madoka's bag. She pulled out her phone and texted her father. When she finished, Kurenai put the bag back then returned to her seat. Madoka had texted her dad and said that she would be staying late for studying but she really planned on staying at the host club longer. Kurenai sighed and turned around to look around the room. There were no other people there because Madoka had requested private time for just her and her two friends.

"Madoka, I'm leaving," Kurenai said as she walked towards the door. Madoka got up and grabbed her wrist

"No your not. I told father I would be staying for studying. He would kill me if he thought that I was here. So I need an alibi. Cooperate and you keep your job," Madoka whispered just loud enough for Kurenai to hear.

"...Ok..." she said. She plopped back down in her chair.

"Haruhi, we need more coffee! Can you make some more of that commoner's stuff!" the blonde who Kurenai heard Madoka call Tamaki, said.

"Fine," Haruhi sighed.

"I'll help," Kurenai said jumping up and finally finding something to do.

"No, it's-" "I'm bored. Let me do something..." Haruhi agreed and Kurenai went into the back room with him. She helped him make the coffee the went out to serve it. When she walked out and placed the coffee on the table Madoka stared at her for a second before returning to Tamaki.

"Thank you," Tamaki nodded towards Kurenai. She stared at him with a blank expression before nodding back and returning to her seat. He sweatdropped.

"Not much of a talker, huh?" Haruhi said. Kurenai stared at him. He sighed.

"Don't bother with her," Madoka said. Tamaki almost spat out his tea.

"Her?!" he said.

"Senpai, is it only you that doesn't notice these things?" Haruhi deadpanned.

"Yeah, I'm a girl. Got a problem with that, blondie?" Kurenai said.

"This one's got spunk, boss!" one of the twins yelled.

"Kurenai!" Madoka yelled. The girl flinched at her raised voice.

"I'm sorry, Tamaki. She seems to be forgetting her place," Madoka glared at Kurenai who clenched her fist and sat back down.

"Yeah, I'm sorry," she huffed as she crossed her arms.

The room was silent. The tension between the girls was intense. Madoka returned to her talk with Tamaki as the twins scoped out Kurenai for a bit.

"Do they always stare like that?" Kurenai asked. Haruhi walked over to them and chewed them out.

"You're making her uncomfortable..." he said. Kurenai felt appreciated.

"She's the only other commoner in this school, other than you, and we're just curious," one of them said.

"About what?" Haruhi asked.

"How she acts...Do all commoners act like you?" the other twin asked. An irk mark grew on Haruhi and Kurenai's foreheads.

"Look, if you want to talk to her, just go," Haruhi said before returning back to his seat. Kurenai was staring at the wall when the twins approached her.

"Hello," they said in unison.

"Hi," she said with a blank expression.

"Woah...Hey boss! You're right! She does look like a boy!" one of the twins yelled. Once again, Haruhi and Kurenai gained irk marks.

"When I said talk to her, I didn't mean like that!" She yelled.

"Hey Madoka, I'm gonna sit outside..." Kurenai sighed as she walked outside. She sat right next to the door and put her knees into her face.

"Hey, sorry about that," Haruhi said as he followed her outside.

"Don't worry about it..." Kurenai said just loud enough for Haruhi to hear it.

"May I ask why you keep your hair short? Most girls around here like to keep it long," he asked.

"Long story short, we were being chased by someone and we were running over and through everything. Boxes, fences, trash...Well one of the gates caught a big chunk of my hair. Our only option was to cut it, so we chopped it off and I've kept it short ever since," Kurenai explained.

"Well...Don't mind what they said in there. You look good," Haruhi said. He reached over and gave Kurenai a hug.

"I should probably go get changed...The club is closing soon," He stood up to go back inside. Kurenai sighed and also stood up. As soon as the two opened the doors, three members of the host club fell from the other side of the doors.

"Honey-Senpai...Hikaru...Kaoru..." Haruhi groaned with disapproval.

"Eavesdropping...That's a low blow..." Kurenai said.

"Well someone's in a better mood...Here," Madoka shoved a bag into Kurenai's hands.

"What's this?" she asked.

"A change of clothes. I'm going shopping after this and I refuse to be seen with someone dressed like that," Madoka said as she looked Kurenai up and down. The maid sighed.

"Fine...But this is only because I don't want any more bullshit for the rest of the day!" she offered.

"Deal. Now go change. I'll wait outside," Madoka ordered.

"I'm gonna go change too," Haruhi walked to the dressing rooms. Kurenai sat down the bags in her changing area and looked inside to see that there was a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a red plaid button-up sweater, and a black tank top inside of the bag. There was also a beanie but Kurenai didn't put it on. When she was done, she looked in the mirror. Her jaw dropped as she realized that she had just made herself look even more like a boy...There was a note inside the bag that explained nothing but made Kurenai sweatdrop.

'Wear this or you're fired'

Shit...This girl will be the death of me..." Kurenai sighed as she exited the dressing rooms. When she did, she tripped and fell face-first into the curtain next to her. Shit...She hit the ground with a thud and rubbed her forehead.

"Crap..." She looked up to see Haruhi in a girls undershirt.

"Holy shit...You're a chick..." The two just kind of stared at each other for a second before Kurenai was pulled out of the dressing room area. The twins held her up just enough to where she couldn't touch the ground.

"She saw Haruhi, Boss~" One of them sang. The blonde came face to face with Kurenai's confused face.

"How should we deal with her?" the other twin asked.

"Wait! What's happening?" Kurenai had so many questions.

"Nothing," Haruhi said as she walked out of the dressing room and put a hand on her hip. "Put her down," The twins did as told.

"We can't have her telling anyone about our little secret..." Tamaki was thinking.

"I won't say anything just let me leave...I don't want to be here more than you want me to," Kurenai held up her hands on defense.

"We still need to watch her," Hikaru said.

"Why are you trying to keep me here?" Kurenai asked.

"You're interesting," the twins said in unison. Kurenai blushed slightly.

"I suppose we could keep an eye on her...With Haruhi now working as a host, we could use another errand boy..." Kyoya said.

"You want me to cross-dress so that you can make sure I don't tell anyone about this little secret of yours?" Kurenai took in the request.

"Yep!" Tamaki smiled at his brilliant plan.

"What if I say no?" Kurenai crossed her arms.

"Then I'll fire you," Madoka said, walking back into the room. "You can't do that!" Kurenai said. "Daddy will believe anything I say...I can fire you, trust me," Madoka glared at Kurenai. In the words of Veronica Sawyer...'She is a mythic bitch'

"Fine...I'll join your stupid club..." She sighed.

"You don't have to. I trust you to not say an-" "Nope! She's already made up her mind, Haruhi!" Kaoru rested his arm on Haruhi's shoulder.

"I don't see why you're making her do this," Haruhi sighed and walked away.

"Great! You'll work for us now!" Tamaki smiled.

"Now that that's over with...C'mon! I'm going shopping and I need that alibi!" Madoka dragged Kurenai away.

"The poor girl..." Haruhi said. She sighed
