This relates to 'Goodnight'. I think someone asked for a second part (I'm not sure), but I wrote it anyway since I had it on my mind.
Well, it's in Lloyd's POV, starting at the scene at the end of the game, when Kratos goes to Derris-Kharlan.
Disclaimer: I do not own Tales of Symphonia.
I stood there, motionless, staring into the eyes of my father. Kratos, my dad...I never knew I would say that, or even think that. The wind blows by, but I pay no attention to it. After what seemed like an eternity, I spoke.
"Do you really have to go to Derris-Kharlan?" I tried to hide my desperation. I really want you to stay, D-...Kratos.
"If the half-elves of Cruxis stay here, the other half-elves wouldn't be accepted." As Kratos paused, I released a silent sigh. He was right... "I am a surviving member of Cruxis..."
I didn't hear the rest. Does it really matter? Who gives a d-
"Use that sword to send me to Derris-Kharlan." Kratos interrupted my thoughts. I swallowed hard.
Don't go..."All right." I pulled out the Eternal Sword...
If you're going to go, at least take me with you...I shook my head a little to get rid of my longing thoughts. There's no stopping Kratos...I raised the large sword...
How I long to call you that special name...the name reserved for my supposedly long-lost father...
There was a brilliant flash of light, and Kratos was gone. I started to hit myself on the head.
"Why didn't I say anything to him?" I grumbled. "I could've at least said goodbye..."
I slowly calmed down, then realized it was too late for him to hear me. But I couldn't help but say it...
"Goodbye...Dad." I felt relieved to get it out of me, even if my father couldn't hear it. I slowly walked back to my other Dad's house.
There, I went to Mom's grave. Kneeling down, thoughts ran through my head.
"Do you think I should've at least told him how I felt? Or at least say that..." I swallowed, trying to get that lump out of my throat. "...at least tell him I still remember that time when we looked at the stars...when I held Dad's sword..." I laughed bitterly, then sighed.
"I'm leaving Dad's swords here..." I pulled out the Material Blade and placed it in front of the grave.
"You wanted to go with him, didn't you?" I turned around and saw Dad standing behind me.
"Yeah...but I have a Dad already!" I smiled at my adoptive father. "And I have a whole new journey to go on..." I turned to Colette, who was standing next to Noishe.
I'll never forget you, Dad. Even if you're in Derris-Kharlan, even if you're dead...I'll never forget you. And I'll always love you...and I'll never forget those happy moments we had together.
When I look at the stars, they will always remind me of you. If I was forced to live forever without you, every star I see will have your face on it.
No matter how far you are, no matter how old I get, I'll never forget you...
