Slayers: Breaking A Heart To Mend Another
Chapter 1
It was noon time and as always Lina, Zelgadis, Gourry, and Amelia were taking advantage of Filia's hospitality. She was serving them tea now, a special kind of brew that would make them sleepy and want to go home. She only did this to save some food for her dinner.
"This is great! Even better than before." Gourry complimented, hoping it would get him thirds.
"Maybe I should start charging you for my cooking then." Filia joked, though no one seemed to think it was funny. In fact Gourry and Lina both looked ready to start crying.
"Great on Filia! Did you see the looks of terror on their little crumb ridden faces?" a familiar voice said, coming from behind the dragoness. Filia put her tea pot down and slowly turned to face the voice. She hoped to all who ruled the heavens that it wasn't who she though it was. Much to her dismay it was the one and only, Mr. Chaos himself, Xelloss. He was smiling as he always did. This tended to send tendrils of rage through her system. Without bothering to scream she pulled forth her mace, launching into a deadly swing. Xelloss merely teleported away, reappearing beside her.
"Nice try my dear. Maybe next time." he said, close enough for her to feel his warm breath on her neck.
"Namagomi!" she roared. Filia swung the mace around but Xelloss phased away.
Xelloss was loving the expression of hatred Filia had on her face. It was now five minutes since he first appeared and she was still after him. As he phased behind her, however, something different happened. It felt like his body cooled down a bit. He knew this feeling from a long time ago. He had just lost his powers and became as mortal as a flower and in a half second was about to find out if he was just as delicate.
Filia swung and hit, a burst of joy rushed through her as Xelloss flew through the air. Sure, he would crash in the kitchen, but at least he wouldn't be leaving without a lesson learned. But something was bothering her deep inside.
"What was that cracking noise?"
She watched as the demon slammed into a pile of white dishes she had set out to dry earlier. Pieces of the porcelain went in every direction, though most of it gathered in the floor. Xelloss rolled off the countertop and onto the jagged pieces below. Filia noticed something red leaking out into the broken tableware, staining it and Xelloss' clothes. Then the smell reached her.
"Blood? It can't be."
Then it began to add up. His lack of escape, the noise he made on contact, and the blood that was obviously coming from him.
"What have I done?"
