"Don't you think it's a little too cold for that?"

Silver looked up from his ice cream to find his girlfriend giving him an amused grin, her eyes gleaming. They had been walking around for a few hours in Goldenrod when the couple had decided on grabbing a snack and taking a break. Eating ice cream was no odd occurrence unless it was the middle of winter and below fifteen degrees, which it was. The redhead didn't exactly mind that though. He just wanted something sweet. Besides, walking around in such a thick coat was a blessing but also a curse. He never knew he could be too warm during winter.

"No. If I wanted to find something cold, I would go find Lance's cold, dead heart. I'm sure he buried it around Johto somewhere," he replied sarcastically. Lyra tried to save face but ultimately laughed until she made a snort of choked amusement and sat beside him.

"One of these days, someone is going to hear you say that and then you're going to get in another fistfight with the caped idiot," she told him sharply. Her boyfriend just grinned.

"And then you can back me up again. Then we will defeat him and save all of Johto from his strict, dull attitude." Silver felt his chest swell with pride when Lyra Soul just laughed again and gave him a light push.

"Stop it," she ordered through her laughter. "You'll get me in trouble. I'm supposed to be doing paperwork right now."

"Which is why I busted you out and we've been walking around and shopping in Goldenrod for the past couple of hours," he added. "And now we're relaxing outside on a cold, wet table and watching the crowds scamper." The brunette gave him a hard stare before sighing and resting her head on his shoulder. Silver proudly continued eating his ice cream, watching the people walk past with not much interest at all.

Eventually he noticed Lyra staring at him. Well, it was more akin to her eying his ice cream. He watched her for a few moments before asking, "You want some?" Lyra froze and the cold wasn't to blame. Her warm hazel eyes lifted to meet his metallic gaze before she looked down at his cup of ice cream and shook her head.

"Not interested," she grumbled while staring at his spoon. "Besides, it's strawberry and chocolate. You love that kind." The redhead scoffed and raised an eyebrow.

"If you're scared of sharing a spoon with me, I'll run in and get you your own spoon," he promised. Lyra gave him a glare, expecting him to be joking, but instead she was taken aback by the sincerity in his eyes. She hesitated before breathing out a puff of white and shrugging her shoulders.

"If it's not any trouble..."

Her rival then pushed himself out of his chair and went off to get her a plastic spoon. True to his word, he arrived a few moments later with a clean spoon and handed it to the young Champion. She happily took the offered utensil and helped herself to a bite of ice cream. Immediately, her expression melted into a satisfied smile. Silver felt his chest warm again as he smiled at her.

"Is it still too cold for ice cream, Lyra," he asked teasingly. The brunette just lightly pushed his arm and soon the happy couple was sharing their unseasonal dessert with bliss.

Author's Note: This one was a request from Nighttyger with the prompt of soulsilvershipping sharing a dessert, which I am more than happy to fulfill. C'mon, who would ever turn down ice cream? Ice cream going out of season is a lie. You can enjoy it at any time, even when it's below zero outside.
