I ran through the hallway of Father's mansion. He was using real bullets this time, not wanting to take any chances. Numbah 3 was right beside me, letting loose with her full-auto lazer. She actually looked pretty good. I was using a lazer-sword instead on a gun, that way I could make full use of my strength.

I thought of how much I loved her, and cursed the fact that they would decommission us after this mission. I cut of the business end of a few machine guns and we continued running, not needing to talk.

I saw him before he shot. Father, armed with a fully loaded handgun, aiming at Kuki. I don't know what went through my mind as I forced her out of the way, but I felt scalding pain, and tears covered my eyes. Everything was so…distant…

The next thing I knew, I heard her crying, and felt her gripping my hand. I heard them, so…far…away… "Father…gun…dead…won…" I could see we were in the medical bay through bleary eyes. "Kuki…" I said, "Did we…win..?"
