Joey was a fitful sleeper. Seto didn't know if that was from his rambunctious nature, or nightmares that lingered after years of torture at the hand of his father.

Icy blue eyes watched on as his golden haired lover sent an arm flying over the edge of the bed as he rolled over. The covers had long since been kicked off so that they either covered Seto from the waist down or they were crumpled up at the foot of the bed. Seto's eyes roamed down Joey's body, clad only in a pair of black and gray checkered boxers. The blonde was toned, but thin. It was hard to imagine that Joey could look so fragile when it seemed like all he did was fight and eat and talk big.

There were scars on his belly and chest. Seto hated to think of those that were present on his back and those hidden by his boxers on his thighs. Hated to think of who had dealt his lover those scars. Hated to think of what he had been through. Hated the scars, and he usually tried hard not to think of them.

He clenched his jaw and reached out a hand to trace along the largest of the scars, leading from his belly button up to his armpit. His long, nimble fingers were light, so as not to wake the blonde, but he stirred anyways, shifting over to face Seto. At first the brunette had withdraw his hand, thinking he had woken Joey, but the blonde gave a small snort and curled his legs up to his chest, shivering now, but obviously still asleep.

Seto shifted over and stood from the bed, picking up the covers and taking them with him as he walked around to Joey's side. He winced as the scars came into view and then carefully covered them. He brushed a lock of golden hair behind Joey's ear, and blushed slightly, glad that his lover wasn't awake to see him behaving so... uncharacteristically.

He walked over to the closet and dressed himself for the day before walking out of the room to eat and then move on to work.

Joey smiled and reached a hand up to his ear where Seto's hand had brushed. He snuggled into the blanket, happily and hummed. "I love you too, stupid." he mumbled.
