Written for the 100 prompt challenge! This one is based around the word "Hours". I very much enjoyed writing again another fanfic where Cesare and Lucrezia were children. They are so cute like that! (I don't know the age they have here, Cesare is about 13, and Lucrezia is then about 9, or so). The "Other boy" Is Micheletto, I like Cesare/Micheletto so much too. Anyways, onwards!
Disclamer: I don't own the game or the characters

It had been a wonderful clear day, that I had been forced to spend inside the palace I and my smaller and probably half-brother resided in, with all the maids constantly telling me how bad it would be if my pretty pale skin got burnt by the sun or of I fell or if... there were so many reasons, that they constantly repeated over and over again. I had long grown sick of them. I breathed in again, trying to concentrate on the book that I was currently reading, but not being able to. I suddenly got up from the desk I was reading at, not being able to stand any longer the stagnant air of the room. I opened the curtains, and looked at the big gardens that surrounded the house. "I can't stand it any longer" I muttered, as I opened the window, and went outside. I was on a room at the first floor, so it made escaping the house something quite easy to do. My face immediately lit up when I was at the gardens. I breathed in, loving the fresh air that was outside. I decided to take a walk, and so I decided to go to the stable where the horses were kept, getting one and riding it, going towards the more open fields.
I rode the horse for hours, enjoying the sense of freedom that invaded me when I did this. I had been taught horse riding by my father and brother, something that they had liked seeing me learn. My father had always agreed to anything I desired, and my brother had always wanted to see me being an intelligent girl, and not just like a pretty girl without brains at all, like all the other girls of my status. I saw a river nearby, and I made the horse go towards it. I was thirsty. While I made my way towards the river something happened though. A wild animal, a fox I think, suddenly appeared from behind some bushes, and scared the horse, making him start running like mad, and throwing me onto the floor. "Ow!" I said as I fell, feeling a sharp pain on my left foot.
I laid on the grass for hours, trying to soothe the pain and watching the sun go across the sky, as tears fell from my eyes, and landed softly on the ground. I laid like this, until I heard another horse coming towards me. I was scared that It was a criminal that would attack me, or a guard of the palace that was searching for me. They would have doubtlessly have already seen that I was missing. I looked up and the person, with teary eyes. he went off the horse. "Don't cry, Lucrezia" He said with a gentle voice, as he wiped off the tears on my eyes. I looked at him with a small smile. "Brother Cesare!" I said, as I hugged him tightly. He smiled, and patted my back. I cried on his shoulder. "Save me, brother Cesare!" I said again, not bearing anymore the sharp pain on my foot, that had prevented me from going back to the house. he smiled again, and helped me get on my feet again. "Don't worry, I will save you Lucrezia" He said, again with a smile, as he helped me go to the palace again. I saw the boy that was walking behind him, and that was walking, leading his horse and the one I had gotten earlier. I looked at my brother again, and smiled at him. He smiled at me again. I could see from the corner of my eyes the look of jealousy that the other boy had on his eyes.
