Chapter 1The ocean is a lovely place. The plants as they sway in the ocean current and fish that swim and play with one another, and the songs of the whales. Don't forget all the mysterious creatures that live in its depths waiting to be discovered. Mystical creatures too like my family and I. Were not what you call human, only… part… human…. Heh ! Ok I'll get right to the point, I am a mermaid. Ha I know mermaids are mystical and part of a fantasy but we are just as real as this you . Just as real as you and the person next door. I am getting off topic, so my history teacher (and yes we have teachers, we don't live in a cave) Ms. Kelp told us that we had to write a report on a long lost mystery. I chose HIM. He is the one that lives in the deep dark lurking depths of the fault. He never comes out and is heard to be evil to the ninth power. (Shiver) Just thinking of him makes me scared. I'm pretty brave and I love adventure. Oh I almost forgot to tell you of my family. My mother is Illiana and my hardheaded father is George the third. His father was a George and his father was a George and man were they all stubborn and strict. My annoying sisters are Carly, Susan, Anna, May, Lolo, Lola the twins and the baby Zana. My name is Starlight Shimmer. I'm 15 and a red head like Carly and May. Zana, Anna and Susan are blonde and Lolo and Lola are brunets. My best friends are Lillian and Jacob.
So the day started out pretty rotten, Carly and Lola's arguing rudely awakened me and I had no choice but to get out of bed. It was 7 at sunrise and boy was I tired. I went out exploring the fault looking for HIS's place. Legend says that he is the guardian of all that good and evil. But one day a little of the bad leaked out of its enclosure and got on his skin and turned the human part of him EVIL. So now he guards it greedily, not wanting to share the evil with anyone else…………. But like I said …Legend says. My father had been to surface this morning and can back with terrible, fearful news.
