Hey everyone! I decided to write this short story because I have Asperger's Syndrome. I know this is short, but I hope you like it!

"Hey Delphox, you wanna go for a walk?" I called from the front door to my male Delphox who was lying down on the rug in my living room. His ears perked up when he heard the word "walk" and he stood up on his legs and scurried over to me happily.

"Del! Delphox!" Delphox yipped happily.

"You always love going on walks, don't you boy?" I smiled and scratched his chin, which Delphox murred in reply. I live in Vaniville Town with my mom and, of course, Delphox. It was a crisp, sunny day-perfect for a walk. Delphox and I decided to stroll down Route 1 and find a place to sit down and just take in the scenery. With Delphox next to me, I opened the large, wooden gates of Vaniville Town and started our walk. The weather couldn't have been any more beautiful. Fletchlings were streaking the nearby air and singing their usual songs. I turned to Delphox.

"How do you like the weather, Delphox? I'm sure a fire-type such as yourself absolutely adores this weather." I smiled.

"Del.", Delphox smiled nodded in agreement. After walking for a while, I turned my head to a comfy-looking patch of grass and pointed to it.

"How does that spot look, Delphox?". He turned to the spot I was pointing to.

"Delphox!" he replied, which meant he liked the spot. We both sat down on the patch of grass and made ourselves comfortable. I was glad Delphox's body wasn't hot enough to start a fire, otherwise we'd be in quite an ordeal. I looked down at the ground, deep in thought. Delphox, being a psychic-type, could tell something was up with me. He turned to me and cocked his head.

"Del?", he was wondering what I was thinking about. I lifted my head and turned to him.

"I haven't told you about this Delphox, but for most of my years in school, I never had friends, and I had a good reason: I have high-functioning autism. Asperger's Syndrome to be exact." The fox made a confused sound. He had never heard of Asperger's Syndrome. "People with Asperger's Syndrome tend to separate themselves from others and don't like to socialize with people they're not familiar with. I never wanted to be with the other kids. I always wanted solitude. In some cases where I needed to do teamwork, I was disdainful. It was hard, but I pushed through with the help of my family...I noticed people with Asperger's Syndrome seem to be able to relate better with Pokémon than they can with people...And now, I think it's safe to say I have the greatest friend I could ever have: you, Delphox." I smiled warmly.

"Del. Delphox." Delphox understood me completely as he made a warm smile as well. I suddenly wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into a hug as he hugged back.

"You're the greatest friend I could ever have, Delphox. You're my best friend." I said, still hugging the fiery fox.

"Delphox. Del." Delphox replied, which sounded like he was saying close to the same thing. I finally pulled away from the hug and stood up.

"Let's start heading home now. Mom's cooking a great dinner tonight." I said as Delphox got up as well.

"Delphox!" Delphox exclaimed, obviously happy about what Mom was going to make.
