Sandals

One day, Richard Reichardt took his young daughter Patricia to the shoe store. In the wake of the death of his beloved wife Marie, Richard has done everything for his daughter. He even worked two jobs to provide for them. But to keep his girl happy, Richard would do whatever it took.

This particular day, Patricia needed new shoes and they were looking for some. But when young Patricia tried on a pair, she didn't like them, or thought they were too tight or stuffy. They went from store to store trying to find the right pair of shoes. Then they stepped into Tito's Shoe Shop. It was there that Patricia first laid her eyes on them. A pair of bright green sandals. They were perfect, as green was her favorite color, plus her feet could breathe. She grabbed the pair and immediately tried them on. They fit perfectly.

"Hey dad," she said, "can I get these sandals, please?"

"Yes you may, Patricia," said Richard. "You know why you can have them?"

"Why, dad?" she asked.

"Because you are my rare gem and I love you." Patricia hugged her father.

"Oh, thank you, dad! Thank you very much!"

"You're welcome, dear." And Richard proceeded to pay for the sandals that stayed on Patricia's feet as she didn't want to take them off. And the two of them left the shoe store. Patricia was very happy. She had gotten a pair of sandals that she loved. And Richard and Patricia went to get a bite to eat before heading home.
