I don't know. The plot bunnies just keep coming to me. I wrote this in twenty minutes but I hope it's decent \
If he thought about it logically, there was absolutely no reason why he should be so bloody obsessed with Hermione. None whatsoever. She was so completely opposite from him that it was like looking at two different ends of a spectrum.
First of all, she read. A lot. He wondered if she had some sort of problem. She read everything she could get her hands on. Sometimes while she read her eyes moved so fast they looked blurred. He couldn't fathom reading for pleasure – unless it was comic books.
She didn't understand Quidditch. She would roll her eyes whenever Harry and he would begin discussing strategy or when they would argue over which team was the best in the league. She thought it was just a sport, for Merlin's sake.
She did extra credit assignments, even though everyone knew she had the highest grades in all of her classes. He could barely remember what his homework was most of the time.
She was too organized. She color-coded things and cross-referenced her notes. She always tsked tsked in disapproval whenever she came across one of his many loose pages of notes that were almost indecipherable. She took precise notes in her own perfectly legible handwriting, full of neat little arrows pointing to another important point and accurate dates. She made to-do lists and itineraries. One time when she stayed at the Burrow, he happened to glance into her open trunk, which was sitting on Ginny's bed. All of her clothes were arranged by color and type – shirts with shirts, pants with pants, etcetera. He was lucky if he could find a pair of matching socks half the time.
She had to pour exactly two spoonfuls of sugar into her tea in the morning and stir it counter-clockwise before drinking it. He didn't even know what that was about.
He barely knew what she looked like standing up straight because nine times out of ten, she was carrying about seven huge books at once.
She always freaked out after taking a test, always absolutely certain she failed and feigning surprise when she got a perfect score.
She finished the Daily Prophet crossword without any help. In fact, once when she looked stuck on one of the clues, he suggested an answer and received a death glare for his trouble.
So logically, Hermione Granger should hold no attraction for him. The thing is, Ron tended to forget about reason and felt with his heart.
