Preteens With Attitude: Halloween

It was 6 PM of October 31, 2015. The preteen met up at Ford Music to go trick-or-treating. They saw each other's costumes, along with the other kids' costumes that were at a party for kids aged 12 and under at Ford Music, with parents responsible for their kids.

Ethan and Alex's parents had spent all day having the store Closed to move all the stands and instruments upstairs once the kids left, and get tables into the building, and buy a million boxes of candy for the party. The receipt for the money came up to $350.00.

The group looked around at each other's costumes. Alex and Ethan were pirates, Becca was a maid, Catherine was a fairy, and Daniel was a mad scientist. Freddy had come because it was a party, and he was dressed in a one-piece Foxy costume. Gabe, Ethan's best friend, was also a pirate so the friends would match. Alex was a pirate because the kids had insisted on it.

Now, the kids were ready to go trick-or-treating. There were still parents at the homes of the neighbourhood, and the Fords were giving out candy at the party.

The parents with children who were under age five had also finished trick-or-treating earlier, and the kids were going home to eat candy and sleep.

The group of six went trick-or-treating starting at Laurel Drive, went to Forest Street where Catherine lived in an apartment, because apartments have a lot of residents, and therefore a lot of candy! They got through the entire apartment after 50 minutes or so. They went down Elm Avenue, where Becca lived, back up the street to Fairview Road, cut back through the park, and headed back to Ford Music. They returned back at 8:35, which was good because the Fords agreed that if they got back before 8:50, the kids could have sleepovers in the store when the party was over at 9:30.

In the meantime, all they did was dance to the music playing, and eat candy-that had been put out for the party-for 15 minutes. Then Ethan thought of something. They had put their pillowcases in Ethan's and Alex's rooms with tags on them to keep everything straight. Only, what if they went upstairs and traded candy they didn't want for what others didn't want? Ethan and Alex did it starting when Ethan was eight, and they would only keep it within that group.

That's what they did. Ethan traded his gum for Gabe's Kit-Kats; Alex traded Daniel a candy apple for M&Ms, and Becca gave Catherine Mike and Ike's for a candy apple.

After more trades like that, they went downstairs and the party was over. The music was off, people were leaving, and the sleepover started!

Everyone slept in sleeping bags on the ground. They watched Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and then Ethan and Gabe went to sleep. The remaining preteens stayed awake, talking about FNAF lore while watching YouTube videos of Markiplier playing FNAF quietly.

Eventually, at 10:55, all the preteens were asleep. They had a great Halloween, full of trick-or-treating, Halloween movies, a party, and candy. Most of all, Freddy didn't bother them once.
