Preface

Fan fiction looked really fun, so I decided to try it out. The following story is kind of just a "test" to see if I'd like to continue with it. The idea might not be as original as I think it is, so please forgive me if it is similar to any other works of fan fiction.

There are many things that I think could be improved; the chapters could be a little longer, for example, and I'm sure a grammar mistake or two might've slipped in there. In any case, I'd love to know what you think could be changed. Remember that this is my first piece of fan fiction and that's it's not perfect in any sense!

If you would like to see more chapters, let me know. As I said, this is just a "test". Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it!

Braving the Dream World: Chapter 01

CLACK! CLACK!

The sound of his pickaxe clashing onto an iron ore rang through the cavern.

POP!

He picked the ore up and headed back to his home (or at least, he called it his home). Navigating through the ravines, dirt patches and lava pools, he heard a startling moan. Unfortunately, his sword had just broken, and it would not have been wise to fight whatever hungry beast was waiting for him. He took a detour, passing by many more tunnels until finally arriving at his house.

The room was warm and cozy. The lone miner took out his ore and put it in his furnace. Once it finished cooking, he would have enough materials to craft an iron pickaxe – a much better tool than his current stone pick. It would take a while to cook, though, so he decided to rest. He sat down on his soft bed, the one he had carefully crafted from wool, and looked through the window at the dark night sky.

It had been a long day. He had a close encounter with a spider; the creature had jumped on him from a higher ledge. It scratched his back and left a terrifying scar. As if that wasn't enough, his sword shattered to pieces. He would be more careful after that.

The furnace cracked and sizzled as the clouds passed by. Eventually, the lone miner could not fight his tiredness, and dozed off.
