AN: oh my goodness! That plot twist. So I've had this idea for a few weeks but didnt know how I was going to write it but after tonight's episode I knew exactly what to do. Enjoy! P.s. I promise I'll fix the spacing tomorrow.
"Knave?"Alice asked as she dabbed her chin with the corner of her dress, shaking the extra fairy dust from her hair. They both currently leaned against the Dandylion, eating the fruits and candies that surround the area.
"What?" He asked with a hint of irritation.
"You never told me why you're afraid of the water."
Caught off his guard, Will cringed, doing his best to not draw the memory into his mind. It was a highly unpleasant story. One of love, loss and ultimately fear.
"It's not a why, but a who."
Alice didnt look surprised. "The Queen."
The doors of the bedroom Will shared with Anastasia flew open with such force that they almost flung off their hinges. The blonde stormed inside, her hair styled on top of her head in a bun, her jeweled crown resting neatly to complete the look. She was dressed in a long, red gown that was simple but elegant, excentuating every one of her curves. Her usually lovely face was twisted into a scowl that caused Will to gulp.
It had been two years since he had stolen the looking glass and brought his beloved to this place. As promised, he had made all of her dreams come true. He had killed the old queen so she could rule and with the kingdom came riches beyond their wildest dreams. He did anything and everything she asked, giving her love ontop of everything. It wasn't until the second year he had noticed the changing. The power was starting to go to her head. No matter what he did she seemed to never be happy. She started asking him to steal again. Then she started asking him to kill. That's when will knew he had to get them out of there.. For her sake.
"Where is it!?" His queen demanded in an angry tone, taking long strides toward him. His choice to ignore her question only angered her further.
"Did you hear me Knave? I said where is it?"
The new nickname made him cringe yet again. She had recently stopped calling him Will, giving him the new tile of Knave due to his ability to deceive others with a good lie. "You're a dishonest man Will. Kings are kind hearted and wise. You... You are more of a Knave than a king." She had said.
He cleared his throat and finally decided to speak. "It's safe."
"Safe? Did I tell you I wanted it safe? No! You shouldn't have taken my ring in the first place. The stone of Wonderland is very valuable."
The Stone of Wonderland was an accident artifact crafted to allow travel between different realms. Will intended to use the ring to get them home.
"Tell me where it is!" She demanded, wrapping her delicate fingers around his throat, causing his eyes to grow wide. "Still don't want to talk? No? Fine. We'll do this the hard way."
Two knights came up behind him and seized him, dragging him off to the dungeon where her majesty held his head in a barrel of water, giving him the fear of drowning. She would hold his head under for several minuets, then bring it back up again, demanding he inform her or the rings place. After hours of this torture, he finally fessed up. By now, the Knave was broken. Never once did he think his love would betray him like this.
"Anastasia..." He tried to whisper.
Anastasia responded with a cold laugh. "Anastasia is dead."
The queen then held his head under the water again until he passed out, leaving him to suffer on the cold, dungeon floor.
"Fine," Alice said with a sigh, defeated. "If you won't tell me what she did, then will you at least tell me who Anastasia is?"
The Knave let out a bitter laugh. Alice wouldn't believe him even if he told her. "Doesn't matter. She's gone."
