Ay new story! Hope you all like the first chapter.
Yami looked at her creator with irritation. It seemed to never really listen to her these days. Too busy looking for…well, she didn't really know. It just kept looking in that ball of energy at all of its creation.
"Will you please listen," Yami yelled in exasperation to the sitting deity, "We're running out of time."
There was a long drawn out silence before a child-like voice came from the other one, "What do you think I'm doing?"
Yami shivered slightly when it spoke. The Allmaker was honestly one of the few beings in existence that she could say thoroughly unsettled her. It didn't help that it didn't have a face and was mostly just the shape of a humanoid child, devoid of any features.
Yami had known the Allmaker for almost 10000 years. When they first met was also the time when she had been given her current position: the current Being of Darkness, or Lady Second.
For all those years, she looked over the mortals and immortals of all the realms. She felt she had gotten pretty good at it all, even if she never wanted the job. That's the Allmaker for you, though. It doesn't care what you want, most of the time at least.
The oldest being in existence was pretty stubborn like that. If Yami hadn't pointed out their problem a couple months ago, then she was pretty sure that the Allmaker would never had noticed and instead just focused on its job to create.
So, what was their problem? Unfortunately, the Second Being of Darkness was dying.
Even now her boss didn't admit to its mistake. It had hoped that her fate would be different than her predecessor.
Whereas Allmighty First was born from the darkness, just as the Allmaker was with light, Yami was originally a mortal. It seemed to work at first too, when the first being gave the woman all of the Darkness in its entirety to her. She lasted almost ten times as long as First until the problem again occurred.
And now here they were. Yami sitting off to the side in the white void that seemed to go on forever, and the Allmaker in the middle, still looking in that orb of light.
"You were on the right track," she said to break the silence. The Allmaker didn't look to her, but he did turn his head a little to indicate he was listening, "picking a mortal I mean. Since you were born immortal, your counterpart would obviously be meant to start out the opposite. This time though…maybe not giving throwing in the next one into the deep end immediately."
"…I know that," the Allmaker replied, "And I'm close. I've narrowed it all down to a sodier. Now he just needs to die."
Yami felt a tingling sensation coming from her hand. Looking at it, she could see it start to dissolve into a dark-smoky substance, "Just in time, too."
The orb that the first being was looking into vanished as it turned to Lady Second, "Its done he'll be here shortly."
Neither said anything for a short moment as they stared at each other. More and more of Yami's body dissolving all the while.
"You were…good at what you did," the Allmaker said with a little hesitation, "I'm sorry that this is the result of my error."
Yami looked at it in surprise for a moment before giving a small-sad smile, "Thank you…and here's hoping that Lord Third is even better."
The last part of her to disappear was her other hand. The Allmaker immediately then, with some effort, tried to manipulate the dark energy into a sphere by using his power over light.
"And so, we begin."
(A Different Immortal)
Everything was white.
That's how heaven was supposed to look, right? Or, at least, that's what he was taught at the church he used to go to when he was younger.
So, did this mean he was dead? That sucks. At only 21 years of life, Drew Hayes never would have predicted that he would die so young. Although, the probability for it does go up when you're a Marine.
'How did I die, again?'
Turning his head to the side, Drew looked at his surroundings. White. Everything and everywhere was white. It was a little straining on the eyes it he was to be perfectly honest.
He also seemed to be on a flat landscape, except for the dais off to the side, around twenty feet away from him.
His eyes widened, however, when he noticed the figure sitting on one of the steps and hunched over in his direction.
It looked humanoid and about the size of a child. However, it was pure white, just like its surroundings. Honestly, without the random shadow, from whatever light source, here or there, Drew would have had a hard time seeing what was different.
The figure also didn't have any facial features, again, making it hard to tell if it was staring at him.
Deciding to get up, Drew sat up where he immediately noticed he was naked. Just another weird thing to add onto all the others of his current situation.
Finally standing, he hesitantly moved a couple of steps to the…thing.
"Hello," Drew called out, noting that his throat felt very dry.
The figure tilted its head, indicating it was listening and unintentionally making Drew freeze.
"Um…am I…dead?"
"…Yes," the thing spoke with a child like voice that had a bit of an echo to it.
Drew's shoulders slumped at the confirmation. His felt a wave of sadness overcome him, "Oh…" he closed his eyes and gave a big sigh, trying to collect himself, "Is this heaven?"
"No."
Drew looked at the being in surprise before becoming a little nervous, "Is this…hell?"
"No."
The nervousness then turned into confusion as Drew raised an eyebrow, "Then where am I?"
The being moved its head, looking like it was observing their surroundings, "The center."
"Of what?"
The being turned its head back in his direction, "Of everything."
The two resumed staring at each other, one seemingly with no emotion and the other with barely much confusion.
"Are you god?" Drew asked.
"…Not the one you're thinking of, no."
The young man widened his eyes in shock at what it just implied. Before he could comment on it, though, he was interrupted.
"I want to ask you something," the 'God' stated.
"What? Uh…okay?"
"Why did you jump on that grenade?"
Drew's body stilled as the memory of his death came back to him.
They had entered the building minutes before, arriving in a room with barely any cover. Really it was their only option to get to their objective.
Thinking on it, he still wasn't sure where the grenade came from. There wasn't any windows or doors above them. And yet, the damn thing had dropped right before his feet without him even hearing the sound of a pin being pulled.
Again, there being no cover, Drew had done the only thing he thought to be logical. He covered it with his body. There was maybe a fraction of a second where he felt the heat and the pain before everything went dark.
Looking at the God with narrowed eyes, the Marine spoke in a restrained tone, "Why? You're kidding, right?" The being shook its head. "Why I did it should go without saying and I assure you I would do it again."
The God became silent again before it nodded its head and stood up.
Drew became a little hesitant when it started to walk towards him, a sphere of light appearing in its hand as well, "That's a good answer. I'll explain more the next time you come here."
"Wait what…? What does that mean."
The God ignored him as it continued to look into the orb, "I'll start you out in an alternate universe first, have to walk before you run after all. After a few of those, I'll start sending you to the other dimensions."
"Wait I'm confused can you explain what you're about to do," Drew had a bad feeling for some reason.
"There's a good one," the God said as it shrunk the orb down in between its thumb and middle finger. Looking like it was about to snap them, "Good luck Drew Hayes, I look forward to seeing what you do with all of your new lives from here on out."

Drew's eyes slowly opened as groaned as he massaged his temples. He very quickly noticed a few things off.
First, what he was currently resting on. The bed was…comfortable, not a word he would use to describe his cot he had gotten used to in the past months after being deployed.
Looking around the room, he noticed it resembled that of a child's. It was painted a light blue with pictures of sports balls and equipment scattered around the room. Even the covers of his sheets had hockey pucks and sticks all over it.
What really confused him, was by the door was a small Canadian flag hung up with a bunch of pictures on a bulletin board.
Scratching his head in confusion, he again paused when he felt his hair. It was definitely different. Even when he didn't have a buzzcut, his hair was never like this.
The real shocker, though, was when he saw his arm in front of him. His skin tone was…brown.
'What…the…hell?'
Drew had been born Caucasian, with parents of the same ethnicity. The only person in his family tree to not be was his Grandfather's Grandmother, who was Native American. Could her…genes be showing up in him and he just didn't know it? No. That is as stupid as it sounded when he said it in his head. Besides, even if it were a thing that happened, the skin tone he was currently looking at, definitely wasn't that of a Native Americans.
"Drew," a woman's voice happily sang out from behind the door. Was this the person who had saved him, or something? She obviously sounded like she knew him, "Its time to wake up."
He heard footsteps coming closer before the handle turned and the door opened. Standing there was a beautiful black woman who had a big smile as she looked at Drew. Standing behind her was a tall man, seemingly her husband, looking in over her shoulder. His smile just as affectionate. Which was strange, as Drew was sure he had never met these people. He noticed they were wearing there pajamas as well. Was he staying in their house?
The woman looked surprised for a second, "Oh…you're up early."
"What can you expect," the man commented, "We've been hyping him up for his birthday all week. He obviously just remembered."
The surprise disappeared as the woman came up and cupped Drew's cheeks and rubbed her thumbs over his face, "Is that right? Are you excited sweetie?"
Drew didn't say anything as he stared at the two in confusion, something they noticed.
"What's wrong buddy?" the man asked.
"I…I…uh," Drew stuttered.
"Hm maybe you're not fully awake yet," the woman suggested as she picked him up, "How about we go downstairs and have some breakfast to start off your third birthday?"
Drew again didn't answer, this was because he was staring in shock at the mirror. Staring back at him was an unfamiliar child's face.
"Drew?"
He did the only thing rational in that moment. The people he assumed were his parents gasped as he fainted.
(A Different Immortal)
The News turned to commercials on the TV, as the family ate dinner around the table.
Drew poked the broccoli with his fork, looking at it with disgust. Like most other kids his age, even the thought of eaten these things seemed gross to him.
"Come on Drew," his Dad said with a sigh, "You have to eat your food."
"But I don't like it!" the six-year old said with a whine. It wasn't just the broccoli either, he also didn't like the pork on his plate as well.
"How would you know? All you do is take tiny bites off of it. Not enough to get the full taste."
The kid didn't say anything and avoided eye contact. Hearing a giggle, he looked up to see his three-year old sister across from him with amusement clearly written on her face. The girl didn't really understand her brother's situation but seeing him uncomfortable was funny to her. The glare she received only seemed to make her smile more.
"Didn't you say the other day you wanted muscles like your Daddy?" Drew's mom asked.
He looked at his father's big arms and frowned a little, remembering that he had stated that.
Suddenly, his attention was drawn to the TV as a commercial he had never seen before come on. It started with people in different places running towards a direction. They all met up on these yellow foot prints. Then, together, they ran through obstacle courses, a jungle, swam through water, crawled through dirt, and a lot of other things. It ended with cool looking men in uniforms holding rifles, then a weird symbol with an eagle, globe, and anchor appeared before it went to the next commercial.
It had left an impact, though, if the way Drew's eyes kept staring at the TV in wonder.
He quickly turned to his right, "Mommy! What was that?!"
His mother looked a little nervous at the question, concerned her son became interested in something she considered dangerous, "Um…that…was a commercial for the marines."
"What are they?"
"Uh…"
"They're soldiers that fight more often than other ones," Drew's father answered, receiving a light glare from his wife.
"Oooh. They sound fun!" Drew exclaimed, much to the horror of his mother.
His father looked at him for a moment before smiling slyly, "You know, if you want to be a Marine, you have to eat your food so you can be strong."
"Dave!" his wife yelled at him in surprise.
"Really?" Drew asked as he stared down at his plate. After a few moments of hesitation, he quickly picked up his fork and started to eat his food.
(A Different Immortal)
An old man of around ninety years of age woke up to the color of white all around him. He had darker skin with wrinkles and grey hair that was bald at the top.
He looked around in confusion before fear gripped him as he recognized where he was.
Pushing himself up, as quickly as he could, the man looked around in haste before his eyes froze on the individual sitting on a dais next to him.
The person in question was about the size of a child but was completely white without any features on their face.
"Welcome back Drew," it said, "And congratulations, this time you managed to live four and a half times as long as your first life."
Drew hand rose as he pointed a shaky figure at the being, "Y-y-you…you're…it was real?" He started to hyperventilate, "No no no no no no no…"
"Calm yourself."
"I wasn't crazy? I…I really did have a different life before this?"
"Yes, you did."
"Wait…then…that means I'm…dead…again?"
"Again, yes. You died of a heart attack a couple of minutes ago."
Drew collapsed to his knees as he stared wide eyed at the being. The sadness of thinking about his family was soon replaced by anger.
"Who the fuck are you? What do you want with me?"
The being gestured to itself, "I am the Allmaker, an Elder God."
Drew raised an eyebrow, "A what?"
"Think of me as the being in the middle of everything. I create and let others govern."
"Others…as in...?"
"You're run of the mill/regular gods and primordials, yes."
Drew stood back up, trying to wrap his head around it all, "Okay, but, you still haven't told me what you want with me."
The God raised its hand, "Another time. For now, let's review your previous life."
"Wait another time?" Drew asked in concern, "You don't mean you're going to keep doing this to me do you?"
The Allmaker ignored the question as it looked into a bright-glowing sphere it conjured up, "Interesting. In this life you were a lot more outgoing and social than you were in your first life. You had a few partners before you settled down as opposed to none before. Although…you joined the military again. Your new country's navy. Why?"
"…its what I'm good at."
The Allmaker gave him a long look before nodding and vanishing the orb, "Reasonable enough. For this next one, we'll do something a little different. I want to see how you live when I place you in an era that was before your last two lives."
"Wait I still haven't agreed to any of this!"

Drew smiled as he looked at the medal in his hands. His was riding in the car with the rest of the family, coming back from a hockey tournament.
Seventh grade had been a pretty bad year for him in general, what with him going through puberty and the new worry of the school cliques; everyone wanting to be cool.
This though, this filled him with pride.
(A Different Immortal)
The Allmaker observed the man glaring at him. For the first time, in the past ten lives, Drew was of an ethnicity similar to his first. Although, the face was still very different.
"Why did you kill yourself?" the Elder God asked.
The man scoffed, "Why does it matter? I'm just going to go to some other life after the previous one. No matter what I do or how I die. If I'm good or if I'm evil."
"And yet you have never done anything inherently evil."
"I'm sorry, did you not see the moments leading up to my death? I beat a man to death."
"Because you caught him in the act of raping a total stranger in an alleyway," the God interjected. Drew's glare lessened a little at that, but the Allmaker continued, "Some people would say that you're a hero."
"Because I killed a rapist?" he asked in disbelief, "That's bullshit. I'm a murderer."
"You killed others when you when in the military in your other lives."
Drew groaned, "Again, that was because it was my duty to protect my country and its allies."
…
"Did you kill him because your sister in your sixth life was raped?"
Drew's eyes narrowed in anger, "Maybe. Or maybe it's because I'm tired of being your FUCKING puppet in whatever goddamn experiment shit this is that you're putting me through!" His voice turned more and more hostile with every word.
The Allmaker stared at him for a moment, "…I told you, when the time is right, I will explain what I'm doing-"
"FUCK YOU!" Drew yelled as he stood to his feet. His hands were balled into tight-shaking fists, "This was my tenth, TENTH, fucking life! I have lived through all of them knowing nothing of why you are putting me through all of this. What am I doing here!?"
Neither said anything for a whole minute after Drew vented. The God calm while the man still shaking in anger.
"You're not a puppet Drew," the Allmaker said. This caused to calm down slightly, "I promise you that at the end of this, all of these lives and experiences will be worth it."
"…And when will it end?"
"When you're ready."
Drew grumbled as he sat back down on the ground with his head hung low.
The Allmaker again brought up his orb of light, like he does every time, "I think we can start moving on to the different dimensions."
"I don't care."
"You should, compared to everything before, this will be completely different."

Drew tried to discretely wipe his sweaty palms along his jeans. Unfortunately, the recruiter across from him noticed and gave him a mild look of amusement.
"Nervous," the Sergeant asked. She had an experienced and tough look about her, but the welcoming smile seemed to lessen it.
"No ma'am," Drew immediately replied, "Uh-I-I mean…Okay, maybe a little."
She smirked, "I'm not that intimidating, am I?"
Drew laughed at that, "No ma'am its not you its…um…well my parents don't really know that I'm here right now."
The Sergeant nodded her head in understanding, "They're against you joining the marines?"
"My mom? Definitely. My dad? Eh, he's a little on the fence about it."
"I understand. Believe me, you're not the first person I've met in this situation. Just remember that your parents care about you," Drew nodded his head at her words, "So, to start, I'm going to ask some questions before we move on."
"Sounds good."
The Sergeant took out a sheet from one of the drawers of her desk. After filling out a few lines meant for the recruiter, she looked back to the teen in front of her, "Full name?"
"Drew Allen Hayes."
"…Date of birth?"
"February 27, 1998."
"…Hometown?"
"Here. Edsville."
This continued for another five minutes.
The Sergeant then looked at him a little sheepishly, "Okay…so…have you ever smoked pot?"
"Uh…no…" Drew lied.
She raised an eyebrow, "It's okay, you can be honest with me."
"I am. I've never done it."
The recruiter stared at him for a few seconds before shrugging her shoulders, "Alright…"
Drew again tried to wipe his sweaty palms on his jeans.
(A Different Immortal)
An old dark elf sat on the floor as he looked at the Elder God in boredom. He was surprisingly fit for his age and had a number of small scars riddled across his body. It was obvious that this had been a warrior of some kind.
"You never cease to surprise me you know," the Allmaker suddenly said.
Drew raised an eyebrow, "The hell is that supposed to mean."
The God sighed a little. Even after all these years, the man still hated him, "To clarify, I'm surprised at how often you choose the role of a soldier or a police officer. To this day you really have truly cut loose for about a decade during your fifth life. Every other time you seem to…restrict yourself."
"I take vacations every now and then," Drew pointed out with his head in his hand.
The Allmaker nodded, "Yes, you do. But you still have never cut loose like those years."
Drew shrugged, "Why should I. If I have the ability to help other people, then shouldn't I?"
"And yet you fought for a country where you weren't born in."
"Skyrim may have not been my birthplace, but it definitely became my home."
"…Hm," the God said nothing as he continued to observe the elf, pleased with his answer, "Do you know which number this life was, Drew?"
The dunmer looked off to the side, trying to remember, before shaking his head, "I don't know, I stopped counting after 35. To be honest, I hardly remember my earlier ones."
"This is your 50th."
Drew looked at God in surprise before sighing and resuming his position from before, "Does that mean we're done with this shit?"
"No, not yet."
The elf closed his eyes and tightened his fists to control his anger, "Of course we fucking aren't."
The Allmaker once again brought up his orb, "I think for the next one I'll send you somewhere similar to your first life."

The bus was silent as everyone sat in anticipation to begin their boot camp experience.
Drew sat next to some Latino kid who looked around his age. They had made a little small talk on the way to Parris Island from the airport. His name was Mario and he was from Michigan.
There wasn't much talking going on beforehand, mostly because people didn't really know if they were allowed to or not. That being said, there was a whisper thrown around every now and then after the bus got moving.
Suddenly a tall and muscular Sergeant stormed onto the bus with a stern face. He looked to everyone and started yelling quickly, "All of you look at me right now!"
""Aye sir!"" everyone responded.
"You are now aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, Building 622 Receiving Company. From now on the only words that will come out of your mouth are 'yes sir' or 'no sir' when someone asks you a question! Do you understand?"
""Yes sir!""
"Stand up! Get off my bus!"
""Aye sir!"" everyone yelled as they moved to do so.

Drew stood with his arms crossed as he looked to the Elder God who, in turn, was staring at his orb.
"…No not this one," the Allmaker muttered, "How about…no not that one, either."
The God then got an idea. Looking to Drew, he saw a pale man with Asian features and both black hair and eyes, "How about this time, you choose where you go next."
Drew raised an eyebrow, having never been offered this before, "Uh…okay. I guess…I haven't lived in a society that regularly space traveled yet."
The Allmaker nodded his head, knowing exactly where he was now going to send him.

Corporal Drew Hayes entered the building with the rest of his unit, one by one. Honestly, he would have preferred to not go into such a large and open structure, but this was there best bet to get around the enemy. Any other place would have been even more open.
Everyone froze when they heard something drop near them. Looking to the source, they saw a grenade about a foot in front of Drew.
It felt as if time had stopped, everyone's eyes wide and their bodies stiff as a board. Each one of them were afraid they were going to die.
That was until an individual dove and covered it with his body.
"Corporal!"

(A Different Immortal)
Zeus rubbed his temples as he sat in his throne. He could honestly say that he was very tired.
The Giant War had just ended, they had won of course, but everyone was still fatigued from the Titan War just before that. It didn't help that they now had to build up and manage their godly duties and the Greek pantheon as a whole.
The King of Olympus would never admit it to anyone, but he was starting to have a few second thoughts about taking his leadership position.
"Zeus," a beautiful voice called out to him from his side as a hand grasped his arm.
The God jumped a little as he looked to his wife, Hera. He hadn't realized that she had stayed behind after the others left when the post-war meeting came to a close.
Hera had a joyful smile on her beautiful face. Although, Zeus could still see the bags under her eyes. Something all the Olympians currently had.
"What is it my love?" the King tenderly asked.
Hera took hold of her husbands arm and moved it to where his hand was on her stomach. This confused him for a moment before he looked to her in shock.
"I'm with child, again," Hera explained as tears of joy ran down her face.
Zeus gave a loud laugh, before leaning in to kiss his wife.

The Allmaker looked to the man sitting before him. Someone he had gotten to know, admittedly, better than he felt he knew himself. His current features were of a Mexican descent with short black hair and brown eyes.
Drew raised an eyebrow, "What? No review of my previous life? Isn't that what you always do?"
"…Not this time," the Allmaker replied.
"Uh…okay. So, now what?"
"…We're done."
Drew froze as he stared wide eyed at the Elder God before him, "…What?"
"We're done."
There was a moment of pause before Drew shot to his feet and ran up to the being, a look of disbelief on his face.
"A-are you serious? Please please tell me you are!"
The Allmaker nodded its head.
Drew interlocked his hands behind his head as he stared to the sky in disbelief, until he gained a big smile and pumped both fists into the air, "YES!...YES!" He looked back to the Elder God with a look of anticipation, "Okay so…now what?"
"I'll tell you everything after you've been reborn."
Drew's smile was replaced a look of shock, "Wait…w-wait…but you just said-"

There was an air of confusion among all of the Olympians at the Fate's words.
The private party in the throne room for the new prince, who Hera had decided to call Drew, had come to a close when it was time to give the new God the areas he would rule over. With the babe wrapped in a clothe and in his mother's arms, the Fates had approached to declare his godhood.
"What do you mean he can't be the God of the winds?" Zeus asked the three Goddesses. He had been hoping to be closely tied his Godly nature with his son. However, he was told differently.
"This child's Godly nature has already been determined," Clotho explained as she eyed the babe in wary.
"What? How?" Hera asked, confused by Clotho's words and actions.
"It was decreed by the Elder One," Lachesis explained.
The Olympians paled at that. While that name wasn't commonly used, it was known throughout all of the Pantheons in the world that there was a being that came even before the Primordials.
"That's it!" Apollo suddenly exclaimed, a look of realization on his face. His action had surprised the others, "A while ago I had a dream. It didn't come to me like my prophecies regularly do so I disregarded it."
"Are you sure the dream was about our brother?" Athena asked skeptically.
Apollo nodded his head, "The dream started when I felt the presence of a very old being sending a someone covered in shadows to Olympus."
"Was he evil?" Artemis asked as she eyed their brother.
Apollo shook his head, "No he felt…annoyed…and old."
"Old?" Poseidon questioned.
"I…I know it sounds strange but that's what I felt."
"That's preposterous," Hera said in anger as she held her son closer to herself, "Drew is a babe and nothing more, he's not dangerous at-AAAHH!"
Hera yelled as sparks of black energy emitted from Drew, causing her to drop him.
"What the-!" Zeus yelled in confusion at what happened.
Drew cried as more and more of the energy was expelled from him before another strange thing started to happen. He was growing. In a few seconds, where there was once a babe, there was a teen and then an adult. His voice becoming deeper as he seemed to age.
When the growing stopped and the black energy died down, what was left was a man with brown hair, a lightly tanned complexion, and a muscled body similar to Apollo. He was hunched over and breathing heavily on the ground.
No one said or did anything until Hera rushed over in fear to her son. She had been crying throughout the whole ordeal.
"Drew! Drew! Are you okay, my son?" she asked as she knelt next to him.
Said God groaned, still hunched over, as he brought his hand to his face, "Fucking Christ, that asshole tricked me…"
There were a few eyebrows raised at his colorful language.
He then started to get up with some hesitation, Hera helping him. Opening his eyes, he took in his new surroundings. This action unsettled a few of his new family members at what they saw. His iris' were a blood red. Not only that, but the others could see the expression of a warrior and experience, things that shouldn't be there.
"This is different from the other times. I assume all of you are my new family?" Drew asked in a deep voice.
Again, the others were shocked, this time because he knew how to speak.
"Y-yes we are Drew, we are happy to for you to join us," Hestia replied.
Drew examined for a moment before looking to the rest, "What species are we?"
"Um…we're gods," Hermes replied at the odd question.
Drew looked at him in shock, "Please tell me you're fucking joking."
The fates pushed through the family as they approached Drew, "No he isn't," Clotho replied, "All hail Drew, God of Darkness and Space."
Alright so how was it? And don't worry I'm working on the next chapter for The Next Journey as well. I have a very good idea of where I want to head with this story. My OC will be involved in a relationship, don't worry, but that's a ways down the road. I think I'm going to enjoy how unexpected the next chapters will be.
Anyways leave a comment if you liked it or have some suggestions.
See ya
