Five times John didn't see it coming
-
5. His ears didn't pick up any sounds coming from Teyla's angry and hissing lips, because all he could hear was Woolsey's words relieving you of command, and all he could think was not enough time.
4. His mouth couldn't stop grinning. He tried to get himself under control, but ended up grinning and smiling and one memorable time, giggling, making everyone attending that meeting watch him with confused expressions/glare. The glaring came from Rodney, of course. The bastard, John thought, grinning. The bastard with the too cute and adorable bed head that was too cute and adorable to not memorialise for life with a photo. Of course, it wouldn't be seen outside of the team, but Rodney still wouldn't stop glaring, and John couldn't stop grinning.
3. His head wouldn't stop spinning. John raised a hand to said head, and groaned, which set off a chain reaction of three more groans from his side, one of them growing into a whine that sounded like his name. He looked towards the whine, and not unsurprisingly, there lay Rodney. Surprisingly, Rodney was naked. Surprisingly un-surprisingly -- and man, his head truly was spinning round and round and -- was the fact that Rodney was curled up next to his own equally naked body, and all John could think, was this wasn't exactly how I'd've wanted that to happen.
2. His nose was filled with it. John felt as if his body was being crafted, from the inside out, with it. His heart ached with it. And when he finally came face to face with it, when Rodney looked at him with blue eyes and a downward slanted mouth and a question on his lips, it was all John could do to not say the words, I think I'm in love with you.
1. John looked at the other man with the whiny voice, the arrogant smirk, and the chubby face, and thought who does he think he is? When the man finally took a break in getting John to try out Ancient tech, John learned his name was McKay, Rodney McKay. When the surprisingly firm handshake was finished, and Rodney had huffed away, John's palm was still tingling.
