One morning, Hermione Granger was lounging on one of her bedroom's chairs, while watching the news. Her hair looked messy and she seemed tired. She was watching a news report, about Lucius Malfoy. She said, "Hopefully the media has discovered how bad he really is."
The news reporter said, "Lucius Malfoy is receiving applause for donating thousands of dollars to charity."
Hermione angrily replied, "Lucius Malfoy stole that money from one of his poorest competitors. He made another company go broke. While the company's former employees go broke, the man who took away their jobs is getting applauded." She angrily facepalmed.
Hermione couldn't stand the news anymore, so she turned it off. Harry Potter knocked on the door. Hermione opened it. She tried to look like she was okay, but she was too upset, to be convincing. Harry walked by and saw how exhausted Hermione looked. Harry rested his head on one of Hermione's books and asked, "What's going on?"
Hermione sighed and said, "Lucius Malfoy is driving me crazy. He's being treated like a hero."
Harry replied, "Don't worry."
Hermione said, "But Malfoy's tricking a lot of innocent people. He has to be stopped."
Harry replied, "You have what it takes to stop him."
Hermione said, "We have what it takes. Malfoy has hundreds of henchmen, but he's never supported teamwork." Harry nodded.
Hermione put her finger on her chin and tried to think about what Lucius Malfoy was planning. She said, "I'm not sure how Malfoy's going to scam the people, who'll donate money. He's not foolish enough to rob them in public. Perhaps, he's going to have his henchmen steal the money, so he can get rich, while still looking like the hero."
Harry replied, "Sounds like a pretty good scheme, but how are we going to stop him?"
Hermione smirked and responded, "Lucius Malfoy's not the only sneaky one. I have my own sneaky plan."
Harry asked, "What is it?"
Hermione said, "We'll go to Priceless Tony's donation party, as guests, and try to find out what he's up to."
Harry shook his head and then placed his head on Hermione's table. He said, "Not a good idea."
Hermione asked, "Why not?"
Harry said, "We're Malfoy's new rivals, so he won't let us come to his party."
Hermione replied, "We'll go in our civilian identities, not in our Hogwarts uniforms. He doesn't know that we're his son's arch-enemies. We'll spy on him, without trying to make a scene."
Harry responded, "Sounds good. What kind of party is it going to be?"
Hermione said, "It's more fancy than most of the parties, that we've been to. We'll probably have to dress fancy and they'll likely be dancing."
Harry jokingly replied, "I'm waiting."
Hermione had a confused look on her face, while asking, "What are you waiting for?"
Harry had an amused look on his face, while saying, "If you want me to go to a fancy party, I'm expecting a fancy invite."
Hermione could tell that Harry was kidding around. Hanging around Harry made the stern Hermione loosen up, so she jokingly held Harry's hand, while saying, "My darling Harry, will you be my date to this fancy event? Your eloquent presence is greatly needed."
Harry talked in a fake sounding accent, while saying, "Sounds like a wonderful party, darling. I'd be honored to accompany you." The two young students had a very casual way of speaking, so pretending to be so overdramatically fancy made them both giggle.
Hermione replied, "We better get ready."
Harry responded, "Okay then."
Harry ran back to his room, so he could tell Ron Weasley what was going on. He looked around the room and saw that Ron was sleeping, even though it was before dinner time. Harry took a closer look and saw that Ron had stolen his blankets, as always. Plus, he accidentally dropped a bucket of ketchup on the blankets and a jar of mustard on Harry's pillowcases. Harry angrily sighed and started tapping Ron's head. Ron got up and threw the mustard-stained pillows at Harry. He said, "Don't wake me up, during my bloody naps."
Harry replied, "Ron, we have a party to get ready for."
Ron smirked and responded, "I'm quite the hip dude, when it comes to parties."
Harry said, "If you're such a wonderful guy at parties, how about you start picking out your outfit?"
Ron replied, "I'll just wear sweatpants and an old gym shirt." Harry rolled his eyes.
Hermione went into her bedroom and started looking for fancy dresses. She got on a black dress, red high heels, and pink lipstick. She looked at herself in the mirror and said, "Not too terrible."
Hermione stepped out of her room and walked to Harry and Ron's room. Harry was wearing a green suit, purple shoes, and red lipstick. Hermione shyly asked, "Do I look fancy enough?"
Harry wanted to give Hermione a wonderful compliment, but his brain struggled to come up with anything. He nudged Ron and asked him for advice. Ron started whispering something to Harry, which Harry decided to tell Hermione. Harry said, "If beauty is a type of fanciness, then you're a master of eloquence." Hermione was a little confused by Harry's weird way of wording things, but she was deeply moved by it. Harry asked, "How do I look?"
Hermione gently said, "Stunning." Harry blushed.
Ron asked, "How do I look?" Ron was wearing a pair of gray sweatpants, which were covered in dirt and a gray gym-shirt, which was covered in sweat.
Hermione folded her arms and asked, "Can't you dress nice, like everyone else?"
Ron said, "Nah, I wanna stand-out."
Hermione said, "We're going to have to be subtle and sneaky. We have to find out what Lucius Malfoy's newest plan is, but he can't find out what we're up to. Try to be on your best behavior."
Harry asked, "Would I see more fancy, if I talk in a fancy sounding accent?"
Hermione said, "No offense darling, but you're not very convincing at accents, so I wouldn't suggest it."
Harry replied, "Very well then."
Ron said, "Harry, you can't even do a solid British accent."
Harry replied, "Ron, I am British."
Ron responded, "I thought you were Britannian."
Hermione said, "Ron, do you know what I am?"
Ron asked, "Are you German?" Hermione facepalmed, while Harry rolled his eyes. Hermione, Harry, and Ron started heading to Lucius Malfoy's party.
The party took place outside of Lucius Malfoy's house. Lucius claimed the reason for that was to make people appreciate the beauty of the sky. However, the real reason was that he didn't want guests in his house.
Hermione, Harry, and Ron arrived. Draco Malfoy walked up to them and said, "Greetings, my terrible classmates." He held out a donation box and said, "Donations for my father's admirable cause go in here." Hermione put a few hundred dollars into the box.
Ron nudged Hermione and asked, "Why are you donating to the bad guy?"
Hermione said, "If we didn't have money, Lucius's henchmen would kick us out."
Harry replied, "Lucius is the worst."
Hermione responded, "Fair opinion, but I suggest not saying that kind of stuff. Otherwise, we might get kicked out."
Harry grabbed a napkin. One of Lucius's bodyguards folded his arms and said, "It costs a dollar, per napkin. If you don't pay, I'll kick you out."
Harry threw a dollar at the bodyguard and replied, "Lucius Malfoy has an endless amount of rules."
Draco Malfoy returned and saw Hermione. He was impressed by her good looks, so he walked closer to her and said, "Hi Madame."
Hermione replied, "I'm British, not French."
Draco said, "I'm a New York dude." Draco was British too. Harry and Ron giggled, over how clueless Draco was. Since Draco was so gullible, he didn't know why they were laughing. Draco said, "I came by here, because of a crazy flight. Speaking of flights, you're hot and I want to date you."
Hermione tried to hide her annoyance, while saying, "I'm afraid I have to reject your offer."
Draco asked, "How about a dance? If you saw my dancing skills, you'd realize how handsome and charming I am."
Harry whispered to him, "Stay away from her or you'll face the painful wrath of jealously."
Draco replied, "I'm going to find a better dance partner." He ran up to Luna Lovegoodand said, "I'm a charming dude and you're just an average weirdo. Despite that, I'd be willing to give you a dance." Luna Lovegood punched the rude Draco, to the dance floor.
Hermione saw that and said, "You go girl." Luna smirked at her and went back to gazing at the moon.
A few minutes later, Lucius Malfoy got onstage. The party guests, including Hermione, Harry, and Ron, looked at him and were waiting for his big speech. He grabbed a microphone and said, "Having each and every single one of you, at this event, is a true honor." Most of the guests clapped, but Hermione, Harry, and Ron rolled their eyes.
Lucius Malfoy said, "As you know, I'm one of the richest businessmen in America. My success is an impressive honor and that's why I want to help our country. With your help, we can do so much for our community. Tonight's charity event is a great example of our potential. We're raising money for Donny Adam, one of my poorest companions in the business world. If you donate enough money, we can save his company. We have five different donation boxes. If you can spare the money, I suggest helping to save his company. I believe we can save it. Sparing some of your wallet's money isn't a bad thing." The crowd applauded and started putting more money in the boxes.
Hermione looked around the party area, because she was expecting Lucius' henchmen to steal the donation money, but none of them did. Hermione whispered to Harry, "I wonder what Lucius is planning."
Harry replied, "I don't know what he's going to do."
Hermione, Harry, and Ron walked to the drink table and got a cup of soda. Hermione took a sip of soda and said, "This is expired soda."
Ron spat it out and replied, "It tastes like garbage."
One of the waiters walked by and said, "Only the expired soda is free. The fresh soda costs two dollars, per cup."
Ron replied, "This party is a load of crap."
The waiter responded, "We're raising money for a good cause, so I suggest stopping your snooty judgments." Ron shook his fist at the water.
Hermione looked at Ron and said, "Try to not get too angry. We can't make a scene here."
Ron replied, "Okay then." Ron briefly walked away. He wanted something better to drink, so he decided to walk to a nearby lake and drink some of the water that was in there.
Lucius Malfoy walked up to Hermione and Harry and said, "Hi kids."
Hermione was surprised to be greeted by her enemy. She tried to hide her nervousness, while saying, "Hi, Mr. Malfoy. It's an honor to meet you."
Lucius Malfoy took a close look at her and said, "I have this odd feeling, that I've seen you kids before. During my speech, you caught my attention, but I don't know why."
Harry smirked and replied, "It's probably because we're the most magical people here."
Lucius Malfoy grabbed a fancy soda bottle. He sipped on it, while asking, "So, we've never seen each other before?"
Hermione said, "No we haven't. Your advertisement said that anybody, who donated the right amount of money, could come."
Lucius Malfoy replied, "True, but I like to get to know my guests. Since I have as much money as possible, I like to greet and support as many people as possible."
Hermione whispered, "That's a load of crap." Hermione was relieved that Lucius didn't overhear her.
Lucius Malfoy looked at the two students, while asking, "Do you participate in a company?"
Hermione said, "Not exactly. Our families are wealthy, so we use that cash to support others."
Lucius Malfoy replied, "I see. So, are you related?"
Harry was starting to let words slip out of his tongue, because he was feeling nervous. A few seconds after Lucius asked if they're related, Harry jokingly said, "Not until she puts a ring on my finger." Hermione facepalmed.
Lucius Malfoy had a confused look on his face, while saying, "I don't understand."
Hermione was secretly blushing, but she tried to forget about that. She was hoping she could bring more dignity and maturity, to the conversation. She said, "Harry and I are business partners."
Lucius Malfoy asked, "What type of business?"
Ron returned. He smirked and said, "None of your business."
Lucius Malfoy tried to hide his frustration, while saying, "I see you like to keep your secrets. Understandable, even relatable. I hope to get to know you more. I have a special feeling about you girls." He straightened his tie and said, "Excuse me. I need to greet somebody else." The shady businessman started walking to Donny Adam.
Hermione nudged Harry and Ron. She whispered, "Lucius Malfoy might be saying something about his plan, to that guy. Let's hangout, near them."
Harry replied, "Okay then."
Hermione, Harry, and Ron started walking across the dance floor. Hermione said, "If we just stand around, Lucius Malfoy's going to get suspicious."
Harry asked, "Then may I have this dance?"
Hermione lightly smiled and said, "Okay."
Ron looked around, while hoping he could find a dance partner. He ran up to Luna and asked, "May I have this dance?"
Luna answered, "Sure, dude." Ron and Luna started doing a bunch of kooky dance moves, which baffled the other guests.
Harry and Hermione started dancing, which helped them be able to spy on Lucius, while blending in with the other dancers.
Lucius Malfoy looked at Donny Adam, while saying, "This party has helped you get lots of money."
Mr. Adam replied, "I'm honored by your generous support."
Lucius Malfoy said, "The business world has been like a second family to me, so it's my pleasure. In fact, give your guards tomorrow night off. I'll have my guards protect your money."
Hermione overheard him and whispered, "I figured out Lucius's scheme."
Harry asked, "What is it?"
Hermione whispered, "He's going to have his henchmen steal the donation money, tomorrow night. That way, he can get all of the money and put Mr. Adam out of business."
Harry replied, "Sounds like another fun night."
Hermione said, "I know how to put an end, to Lucius' nonsense. Now that we know the place he's planning to rob, we can put a protection spell over the building." Harry nodded and the two of them used the power of their wands, as well as their teamwork, to put a protection spell over the building. Since the protection spell was invisible, Lucius' henchmen would try to go inside and get bounced away.
Harry looked at Hermione and said, "You're the best."
Hermione held Harry's hand, while saying, "We're the best."
Ron ran by and hugged his friends, while saying, "We're the best trio." Hermione nodded. Although Lucius was rich, he always failed to stop Hermione and her friends, because they were richer, when it came to the power of love and the magic of friendship.
