Chapter One:
"Say Salem," the black cat was sitting on the kitchen table as the newest member of the Kinkle clan sat picking up cheerios one by one with her chubby little fingers.
"Wum" Mena babbled back.
"Close enough" Salem said.
Sabrina and Harvey Kinkle had adopted Ximena from Columbia almost a year ago. By adopting a mortal, Harvey would be able to raise his and Sabrina's daughter without the threat of turning into a ball of wax in fifteen years.
Suddenly, Mena ripped one loose that would put a grown man's farts to shame.
"Whew," Sabrina said. "Was that just a toot, or was there any substance to it?"
A second later, the overwhelming stench that filled the air answered her question.
"Alright Harvey, your turn" Sabrina said.
"But it's Tuesday," Harvest said. "My diaper changing days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays."
"Yesterday was Tuesday."
The joys of both parents having jobs that allowed them to work at home.
Harvey stood from the table and lifted his little girl from her chair as he said "You always wait till daddy's changing days to lay the stinky ones, huh."
"It's her way of saying she loves you," Sabrina said.
As if the baby understood, she smiled and said "dada."
"Aha!" That was Salem. "I knew she could say two syllable words. She was holding out on me. I see how it is."
