Himawari meets Watanuki's mother once, during summer vacation. Sakura smiles and laughs with her husband and son while holding Himawari's hand, just so Watanuki can hold it too. Himawari sees the life she wishes so desperately to have.

Yuuko calls Sakura 'God's favorite daughter' and Himawari watches her win a CD from a street-raffle.

"Maybe," Himawari says up to her, "I can be like you one day," and she smiles, gleaming with hopeful eyes. Watanuki smiles beside her, and prays for a world where Himawari can be happy, too.

Sakura smiles back half-hearted, and answers, "Maybe."

Except she means: Never.

NOTES:

1. Doesn't really fit with any canon, due to me really not understanding the canon.

2. Just wanted to shut down Hopeful!Himawari. I don't actually think Sakura is mean like that.

3. ALSO THIS IS A DRABBLE GUYS I WROTE A DRABBLE. 100 WORDS OH YEAH.

4. I got the idea while going through prompts for the lj community un_love_you. I did some other ones, but I didn't intend on doing all of them, so I didn't write my name down for it.
