December 20, 1895.
11:13 PM.
"Robin! I'm closing up the shop!" Mr. Romano yelled with his pocket watch in hand.
I sighed in relief and eagerly wiped the blood off of my boney fingers.
Mr. Romano chucked and tossed me a clean rag to the wipe off the blood.
"I see you're eager to go to Frozen Man's Hill to see the first snowfall of the season."
"That would be right, Mr. Romano."
"Oh, Robin. Please call me Valentino. You've earned it."
"Okay then, Valentino," I said with a smirk. "Do you like winter?"
He looked at me and laughed. "I absolutely hate winter. The bitter air, the frozen roads. It's horrible. There's nothing to like about winter."
I rolled my eyes. We both laughed.
He looked at his pocket watch again. "Ten minutes have passed," he announced. "I'll clean up for you Robin. You go watch those deadly white blades fall from the sky." Once again, I rolled my eyes and we both laughed. We both said goodbye, I grabbed my coat from the hook opened the door and marched out of Mr. Romano's shoe store.
Jack Frost's Perspective:
"God damn. It's felt like ages since I used this staff," I said holding it up and smiling. I cackle.
11:43 PM. 17 more minutes and it would finally be winter.
I take a deep breath. Philadelphia. It was famous for the cold, harsh weather.
Empty. That's what these streets were. All the lights were turned off. Animals nor people roamed the streets. It was like a ghost town. But then I saw-
her.
There she was. The most beautiful girl I have ever layed my eyes upon. She stood under a street lamp. All her breath taking features were illuminated by the light.
She was tall and lean. She had long straight hair that was dark brown. She had light skin, which was complemented by her freckles. She wore a black coat and had a small silver necklace around her neck. She looked 17. Maybe 18.
She continued walking.
I felt my cheeks burning and my chest getting warm.
"Jack Alexander Frost!" I yelled. "She's hideaous. I've seen other girls way more prettier than her." I said to myself. Which I knew wasn't true.
I walked behind her. Then she turned the corner for the last time.
And then I knew.
She was going to Frozen Man's Hill.
