You run. You scream. You cry. But there's nothing you can do to get out of this place. Sadistic murderers only greaten your desire to be free from the torture of the arena. Only, there's a problem. They're stronger than you, and sure to give you an extensive, excruciating death with merciless stabbing.

Of course, they do. Oh, and it's worse than you imagined. As you expected, they stab you. One girl flips her knife around in her hand and draws on your leg. It's a little boring, since there's only one colour: red. Your blood. But it's better than nothing.

A pretty blonde girl struts up to you and starts yelling at the knife-girl. At first, you think she is going to rescue you from the pain that sends shivers down your spine, burns your eyes, paralyzes your limbs. That is, until she grabs a dagger and examines your face, turning it this way and that. As she begins to carve your lips into a bloody smile, tears sting your eyes and blur your vision. You can no longer hear anything; their lips move, but no sound comes out. Not that you want to hear them satirizing and laughing at your pain as they pummel your body and suck the confidence out of you. But you can still see them, even if only a little. Your eyes refuse to close, so you stare helplessly up at your soon-to-be killers.

Two boys stand side by side, watching the girls destroy your face. One of them carefully polishes his glinting silver sword, wiping away all the blood of his former victims. The other boy just smirks and says something to you (probably a torment, but you literally can't hear to save your life).

Finally, the girls are done with you. Although you can't see yourself, nor do you wish to, you are sure that blood cakes your face, swirled intricately into some sort of design. Maybe it's a knife, you think, attempting to distract yourself from the dizzying pain.

However, there is no need. Now you can barely make out the faces of the four tributes surrounding your body, mocking you as one raises his sword. Your muscles ache; your entire face is burning, as if it's on fire; you can hardly breathe. Life slips rapidly from your body.

Just when you're starting to black out, you watch the boy plunge his sword into your chest, and are sure you hear him laugh. The last thing you ever see before slipping into blissful oblivion is your own blood splattering the silver weapon and the knife-girl grinning dementedly right in front of your face. Then, with a flash, you're gone.

And you never thought death could be so beautiful.
