"Kaylee? Kaylee!" Simon Tam called as he walked towards the engine room where Kaylee normally was. He had already checked her room and he was getting worried. Kaylee hadn't been feeling well the last few days, which always unsettled the young doctor. "River have you seen Kaylee?" Simon asked when he saw his sister sitting in the engine room.

"No." River said simply.

"Thanks." Simon said before turning to leave the room nearly running right into Jayne.

"Gorramit!" Jayne spat when he dropped the gun he had been carrying. The impact of the fall caused the gun to go off. Not harming anyone.

"What the hell was that?" Zoë asked walking towards them.

"I ran into Jayne and he dropped his gun." Simon said bending down and picking up the gun. "Have you seen Kaylee?"

"I saw her down in the kitchen with Inara." Zoë answered.

"Thanks." Simon said before running off to the kitchen. "Kaylee?" Simon asked walking into the kitchen.

"Hey, where have you been this morning?" Kaylee said cheerfully.

"Looking for you, you seem better this morning." Simon commented.

"I am." Kaylee said flipping the eggs she was frying. "Want some?"

"Sure, your blood work is still inconclusive." Simon said sitting down at the table. Last night Simon had taken a blood sample from Kaylee after she threw up for nearly an hour. Before Kaylee could respond the ships captain, Mal, came walking into the kitchen.

"Eggs?" He asked coming up behind Inara and putting his arms around her. He and Inara had been dating for about a month now, though they didn't normally display their affection when they were around the crew.

"Want some?" Inara asked. Mal simply sat down at the table next to Simon.

"So Doc, how much longer till the bandage comes off?" Mal asked Simon. About a week ago Mal was shot in the shoulder, Simon was making him wear a bandage so that he didn't get any dirt in it.

"After we eat I'll take a look at it." Simon said as Kaylee sat a plate of eggs down in front of him. Simon was about to take his first bite when there was a crashing sound from across the ship and the sound of River's voice calling his name. Simon jumped up from the chair and ran towards the sound, Inara, Kaylee, and Mal on his heals. "Mei mei, what happened?" Simon asked kneeling down next to River. Who was lying on the ground, a few crates were knocked over.

"I was trying to get down and I slipped." River said holding back tears. "I think I broke my wrist."

"Oh mei mei." Simon said helping his sister stand up. He walked his sister to the infirmary. Once they were there Simon had River lay down on the bed while he examined her arm. It was merely a sprain. So he wrapped it and sent her to go find something to do. Once he was alone he looked at Kaylee's blood test. "Oh my god." He whispered when he saw the results. He immediately ran out of the infirmary and up the stairs. "Where's Kaylee?" He asked Jayne in passing.

"Talking to the captan." Jayne said. Simon ran in the direction of the engine room where he had last seen the captan and Kaylee. But no luck, the captan was in the kitchen but Kaylee was no where in sight. Simon ran in the direction of Kaylee's room, climbing down the ladder as fast as he could.

"There you are." He said catching his breath.

"Yep, I was just about to get changed." Kaylee said.

"Kaylee, the results of your blood test came back..." Simon said.

"And...?" Kaylee asked.

"Kaylee, we're, uh, we're going to be parents."
