The multiverse is in a bit of a bind, with the quake and sudden disappearances, as well as appearances, happening all over. Though the quakes appear random, they seem not to be. Something has happened to Star, as well as others across the dimensions, and the only ones aware of the inner panic commencing, would be the Magic High Commission, as well as Marco and a few tag-alongs. Searching for the answers as to the origin of this break out, Heckapoo is unsuccessful and must find answers in an unlikely ally. Things will get messy as new threats are discovered and new worlds are explored. Star Vs. the Forces of Evil is the sole property of Daron Nefcy. P.s… if there are any characters that have been in the show, but the gender hasn't been clarified, I'm sorry. I chose whatever gender suited the character best. Deal with it. Also, this is before Eclipsa's man's freedom and before Marco and Kelly's detachment.
Chapter 1
I'm met with the hard impact of the solid floor. It's my alarm. I rub my head as I slowly rise. "Damn quakes." They've been happening for a while, now, but no one seems to know the sole cause of the breakout. "Star. It's time to wake up… Star?" I move to her bed, getting ready to pull the sheets while also trying to avoid embarrassment. Star can be a bit of a… a character. More than once has she slept in the nude. I try to pretend not to notice, but when a boy and a girl our age are sharing a room, it's appropriate to apply boundaries, that in which, she does not. The awkwardness doesn't stop there. She walked in on me once, while I was in the shower. Thank god for curtains. She's a bit of a hit and miss when it comes to these things. Sometimes, she won't be fazed at all. She'll just continue to brush her teeth while we're a simple layer away from humiliation, for me at least. There are also times where the roles shift, not often, if I may say. One time, recently, we planned on going to the beach: her, Tom, and me: but things kind of destroyed that moment. Anyways, the funniest thing, I couldn't find my trunks. Eclipsa lent me her late hubby's, but there was no way I was going in that. It fit like a blanket, if not bigger. I'm pretty sure there's a law against public indecency. Anyways, Star seemed a bit embarrassed, while I, on the other hand totally overlooked the fact that what I was doing could put some in an uneasy position. Tom liked it, though. Then, I tried Glossaryk's—bad decision by the way. Those nearly amputated my legs. Glossaryk is the size of a big peanut, so the fact that his trunks fit on me at all was a complete miracle. There were parts of me that didn't necessarily fit in them. I'm lucky those didn't make me go sterile. Tom liked them, too, but I decided to get Star's opinion. Before I had a chance to show her, she blushed and said she was busy with urgent business. Tom is a good guy, a friend, but sometimes, I feel his judgement is not the best. He definitely enjoyed himself that day. You know, I don't think he ever erased those pictures.
I like our relationship at the moment. There used to be all that tension. If it wasn't coming from me, then it was coming from her. Ever since we killed the curse that bound us, we've never been closer, as friends. No drama. No unneeded complications. Just us, hanging out like usual. I never realized how I missed this. Sure, the memory when I first had feelings for her was the price, but what's done is done. Do I want that back? Sure, I'm curious as to what memory got deleted, but I like what I've got. Besides, she has a boyfriend. Our thing would just complicate that for them, and I don't want that. Tom being her boyfriend used to bother me, but now, we're just three amigos enjoying ourselves. I think that's why Star has close to no boundaries with me. She thinks of me as more of a close sibling. A sister, even. Without the whole crush involvement, her insecurities have been let go. I'm pretty sure that I see more of her than Tom does. Besides, I've got Kelly. We're not official or anything, but that's fine. We hold hands and kiss. That's pretty much all we've done. Anyways, back to the matter at hand.
I pull the sheet from Star's bed, but she isn't in it. Instead, there's a note. "Marco, I have urgent business with the commission. This may take a while."
"Hm, weird. She usually tells me these things first." **knock*knock**
I open the door, expecting Star for some reason when, instead, there is a little, horned being with a blue hat. "Please, don't attack. I'm just delivering mail." The creature jumps out of the way.
"Hey, hey. It's fine. Star's not here. What you got there, man?" I lend out my hand, reaching for the letter that's addressed in Star's name.
"Actually, I'm a girl." She holds out her hands in front of her tiny body, staring at the floor, trying to avoid eye contact.
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. It's actually a common misconception, really. Most assume the same. I don't exactly scream 'girl'."
"Now that I think of it, I should have known. Your voice is pretty up there." If I look closely, she's actually adorable with her little hat. She appears to have… goat ears, or something. A little demon tail. Horns like Tom has. "Thank you, Miss." I have a feeling she's about to say something else, like, perhaps a name, but I close the door quickly. I toss the letter on her bed. With Star gone on business, I really have nothing to do. I guess I could go dimension hopping. I take out my scissors and rip a hole in the room. It's a familiar golden one. "This isn't right." A hand grabs me and pulls me in. "Hey, what the… Heckapoo?"
"Did Star get the letter?"
"Letter? Oh. No. That was literally just delivered. Besides, isn't she with you?"
Heckapoo pinches the bridge of her nose, sighing. "No. She's supposed to be, but she never showed. I can't find her. I've checked all the dimensions she could possibly be, and nada."
"What? She left me a note saying she left earlier."
"Oh, this is bad."
"H-poo. Speak to me."
"I told you not to call me that!"
"Sorry. Habit. Do you think she got nabbed?"
"Maybe. It's possible, but why? She's no longer a princess. Well, not officially, anymore. Nabbing her wouldn't benefit anyone."
"Let's get Nachos. We'll search together."
"Woe, woe. Hang on, big guy." She presses her hand into my chest, stopping me in my place. "Just go back home. I'll take it from here."
"No chance. Star is my friend. If she's missing, I'm helping."
"Don't worry. She'll be fine. This doesn't concern you."
"If it's Star, then it does concern me. Do her parents know?"
"Absolutely not. And they're not going to. Sorry, but you'll just have to leave this in the capable hands of the commission." She opens up another portable and pushes me through it.
I appear to be in some sort of absurd hair dimension. "Marco?" A pair of tan legs stand in front of my face. Kelly helps me up. "What are you doing here? Oh no. Did we make any plans? Because I totally spaced."
Way to go Heckapoo. Rather than throwing me back into my dimension, you toss me into Kelly's. "No, no. It's fine. I kind of just stumbled here by accident."
"What's with the wardrobe choice? Going punk?" My outfit from older Marco remains on my body. "Looks good. Showing off them little stomach muscles." I never did figure out the whole wardrobe malfunction. One minute, I'm in my regular red hood and jeans, when the next, I'm in my torn shirt and war outfit. Those clothes somehow follow me back to my dimension. The concept confuses me, but I've kind of stopped with the questions.
"Heh. Yeah. I'm sorry. I'll be going."
"Wait." She grabs my wrist and pulls me back. "You know, while you're here. There's this party in the ghost dimension. Totally wild. Maybe you, Star, and I could check it out."
"Oh, Star? She's actually at a meeting right now." I don't want to lie to Kelly about her friend, but I also don't want to go behind Heckapoo's back. Something tells me, she'll hunt me down.
"Ug. Lame. Then, it'll just be us. What else do you have to do?"
There really isn't an answer I can give without lying. "Sure. Sounds fun. I should really change, though."
"No need. You look perfect for this." She grabs my scissors and tears a hole, throwing us both into it.
It's dark. Music's blaring. The ground doesn't necessarily feel firm, not in the slightest.
"Kelly!" A taller, rugged-looking ghost teen with weird ghostly bangs covering his eye, floats over to us. "I knew you'd be here. Always with these parties, this one." His eyes look over at me and glare. Just when I think he's about to tackle me, he grabs my hand, firmly shaking it. How I'm able to actually touch him, I haven't a clue. "Hey, Kelly. Who's the stiff?"
"Marco, Jeff. Jeff, Marco. Marco is a friend of mine."
He takes notice of her hand in mine. "Are you guys, like dating?"
"Yes."
"No"
"It's a bit of a flexible arrangement."
He suddenly smiles, "No need for explanations. Come. The guys are over here." He leads us over to a few other absurd-looking characters. "So, are you from Mewni?"
"No," I quickly answer. "Not Mewni. Actually, I'm from Earth."
"Earth? Isn't that dimension completely magic-free. Weird to see someone like you completely involved in this."
The party is crazy, from what I can tell. The ground appears to be clouds, or some other type of non-solid structure. It slightly bounces, or shifts, with every step that Kelly and I take. The partiers are comprised of many different types of creatures: ghosts, zombies, normal-looking humans—or mewmans, and many other interesting choices. "So, Jeff. How is your hand able to, you know?"
"Simple. I can allow my body to be touched, or not. Any friend of Kelly is a friend of mine, but, I swear, if you ever hurt her—"
"Woah, there buddy. We're fine. See."
"Sorry. I get a bit worked up. Yo! Tandrid! Get my friend a drink, won't ya?"
"I don't drink, actually."
He laughs. "It's not alcohol. It's the newest energy beverage." He hands me a can with a ten-sided star on it.
"Superstar?"
"Yeah, man. I bet you've never tried anything like this. It's super exclusive to this dimension."
"Earth has a similar drink."
"Not like this. Try it. It does have different effects on different creatures. It's actually supposed to rid you of all inhibitions."
Kelly grabs my arm, "You don't need to drink it if you don't want to, Marco. Like he said, it could cause you to—"
"It's fine. How bad can it be? It's just an energy drink."
"Famous last words."
Hm. Cherry... I take a sip, but nothing seems to be happening. "I don't think—" My body is overcome by a feeling like I've never felt, almost parallel to the drugs I've come across in those sixteen years in H-poo's dimension, but not quite-so. Everything gets brighter. My blood feels as if it's about to burst. I feel a sudden rush of happiness. I take Kelly's hand and drag her to the dance floor. I've never felt more free. All doubts. All worry. I don't have any of that. A certain halo-effect surrounds Kelly. Her look of joy. What is this? I grab her hips and pull her in, getting lost in her eyes. "Kelly. You're so… beautiful."
She turns away, her skin heating up in my embrace. "Marco. You're just in the moment."
"I don't think so. I've never wanted to kiss someone so much before. May I?"
"May you, what?"
I slowly move in, waiting for her to deny me this opportunity, but she doesn't. My lips lightly graze hers, until she allows me access into her mouth. This warmth. I could get lost in it. Everything suddenly gets blurry. I feel faint.
I feel everything coming into focus. Flashes of my trip slowly coming back to me. I'm staring up at a ceiling. I turn to my side, groaning, as I find myself staring at someone's bare back, a blanket covering her. The hair, so familiar. "Kelly?"
She turns to face me, a look of regret on her face, but also one of happiness. The confusion between her emotions. "Hi. You're awake. Well, of course you are, otherwise you couldn't talk. Unless you're… Sorry. I'm rambling."
"Why aren't you dressed?" I look down and notice my state of undress, as well. "Why aren't I dressed?"
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done it. Not in your case. Ah, I've messed up. You probably hate me, now."
I disregard my current state and shift over to her, looking away, out of kindness to her embarrassment, as I place a hand on her bare shoulder. "Hey. Don't. I don't, I could never hate you. Did we, you know?" She refuses to look at me. "I see. Well, what happened, happened. I may not remember what happened, but, I'm glad it did. You shouldn't feel embarrassed, nor should you regret a thing… if it's too much to ask, was I any good?"
She stifles a laugh. "You really know how to ease someone's emotions, don't you?... You were, amazing."
A smile forms as she looks at me. The blanket slowly falls off her shoulders, exposing to me, everything. "You look… beautiful."
"Yes. You said that. I've already seen everything of you. It's only fair that I return to you, the opportunity to see me."
"Kelly. You don't owe me a thing. Not one bit."
"Good to know, Marco Diaz. Well, I have somewhere to be, so—"
"Of course." I reach over and grab my hoodie. "I'll leave you to it, then. I hope to see you later."
"You will."
With that, I leave her to her business. If only I could remember what transpired between the two of us. Maybe, the memories will become clear to me someday, or maybe, I'll have to experience them all over again when I'm level-headed. Just the thought of what we did makes my body feel weird. Someday, I hope to share that moment with her, again. My room shakes slightly, causing me to tumble. "The hell." Another quake, slightly bigger than the last.
