I look up and see Duo. His head is buried in his hands and he is crying. I watch him and try to move, but I can't. My whole body is stiff and numb. I am somewhere enclosed with soft, padded walls pressing against me. I watch as a tear slides down my lover's beautiful face. A tear for me. It slides down, and I wait for it to touch me. Instead, it splashes onto the thin glass layer covering my fortification. I, too, wanted to cry, gazing with glassy eyes at the look of sorrow on my dear Duo's face. Beside him, Trowa, Quatre, and Wufei were weeping too. Then I felt myself gradually being lowered, as darkness descended upon me.
----------------------------------------
I woke up with my palms wet with perspiration. I sat up, wiping my hands on the bed sheets. I looked around, my eyes then falling on the figure beside me. His eyes fluttered open, and he shifted to look at me. "Bad dream?" he asked softly, part of his hair falling from his shoulders. I nodded. "Wanna talk about it?" he asked, giving me a gentle smile. I shook my head, "No... I'll be fine". I glanced at him, my eyes locking with his violet orbs. They were staring at me intently, as if searching and looking through me. "You'll never die, Heero. Not while I'm around. Besides, you're strong, you're the almighty pilot of Wing, remember?" he whispered, "And I won't die either. Because you're here, and for you, I'll be strong. Stronger than all the forces of the world combined. Just for you." He grinned. "H-how?" I choked. "I can see it all in your eyes, Heero. Your fear, your emotion. Everything. Though you don't always show it, you are now." he murmured, pulling me into a reassuring embrace. I cracked a slight smile, "Arigato, Du-chan..." He nodded, "Anything for you, koi..." And the last thing I heard before I fell into the depths of sleep was Duo's barely audible voice: "And neither the angels in Heaven above, nor the demons down under the sea can ever dissever my soul from the soul of my beautiful Heero Yuy"
~OWARI~
Note: "And neither the angels in Heaven above, nor the demons down under the sea can ever dissever my soul from the soul of my beautiful Heero Yuy" was originally "And neither the angels in Heaven above, nor the demons down under the sea can ever dissever my soul from the soul of my beautiful Annabel Lee" . This line was taken from one of my favorite poems, by Edgar Allen Poe: "Annabel Lee". So, in other words, its *HIS*. Not mine, Ok? Ok.
