Title: Ba Sing Se

Description: A kind of anachronistic crossover with the song "Santa Fe" from RENT. Good for a chuckle. Rating because I can't rate stuff yet...

Disclaimer: I own nothing... at all... woe is me...

Ba Sing Se

"Omashu," Katara said jauntily.

"Mm hmm," Sokka echoed in the woods.

Katara rolled her eyes and looked back at the disappearing city. "A center in the Earth Kingdom."

"Sing it, Katara" Aang encouraged. She smiled at him.

"Times are shitty, but I'm pretty sure they can't get worse," she replied hopefully.

Sokka looked at her and drawled, "I hear ya."

She nodded wearily and continued, "It's a comfort to know, when your singing the hit the road blues, that anywhere else you could possibly go after Omashu would be." She paused for dramatic effect. "A pleasure cruise."

"Now you're talking!" Aang exclaimed. The group unspokenly decided to take a break, after trekking through the woods. They were letting Appa rest for a little.

Aang smirked and continued. "Well I'm thwarted by theoretic puzzle, and I'm sick of being blown up wherever I go." The others nodded wearily. "I'm shouting in my sleep, I need a muzzle!" he sang loudly, leaning down to Katara's face. She smiled and jokingly blushed.

"And all of this misery pays no salary, so," he said to Sokka's face, who was nodding in agreement.

"Let's open up a restaurant in Ba Sing Se!" Aang declared. "Oh, sunny Ba Sing Se would be nice," he sighed. "We'll open up a restaurant in Ba Sing Se, and leave this to the fire and ice!"

"OH, OH!" He sang out loudly.

The siblings and Toph grinned at each other and replied back, "OH!"

"You bend?" Katara asked the bald child jokingly.

"Yeah, I bend, fire, air, earth, and water. But I would rather be playing air ball," Aang replied sheepishly.

Katara turned to Sokka and Toph. "Avatars."

"Avatars." He leaned back on a tree, and she crossed her legs.

Aang rolled his eyes, indifferently. "You're a sensitive aesthete, brush the sauce onto the meat," he said brightly to Sokka, who put a thoughtful hand to his chin.

Turning to Katara, he chirped, "You could make the menu sparkle with rhyme." She threw her hair back happily.

"You could drum a gentle drum." Toph rolled her eyes.

Aang jabbed a thumb at his chest and said proudly. "I could seat the guests as they come, chatting not about war, but wine. Let's open up a restaurant in Ba Sing Se, our labor would reap financial gains!"

"Gains." Sokka sang deeply.

"Gains." Katara sang high.

"Gains!" Toph sang in a range between.

Aang looked at them proudly. "Let's open up a restaurant in Ba Sing Se, and save from devastation our brains."

"Save our brains," Katara, Sokka, and Toph echoed.

"We'll pack up all are junk and fly so far away; devote ourselves to projects that sell." Aang looked proudly at the group, who had joined in singing. "We'll open up a restaurant in Ba Sing Se, forget this hot Earth Kingdom hell."

Aang breathed deeply and belted out, "OH!" He proceeded to do some fancy air-bending flips, while singing.

Sighing he sat down between Katara and Sokka. He slipped one of each of his arms around a sibling's neck. "Do you know the way, to Ba Sing Se? You know, earth bending... cabbage sellers..." Aang trailed off.

"Yeah...," the group sighed.

"Cabbage sellers?" Toph asked, confused.

Katara raised her sleepy head. "Shh...," she said and wrapped a free arm around her as well. The strange group of friends fell asleep right on the spot.

"What the-?" Prince Zuko asked himself when he found the group still sleeping there in the morning.

They're just friends, in case you didn't know...

Hope you liked it!
