I wrote this story just for LOTRDesmond, one of my story friends here on I hope you like it LOTRDes!!!! I know it's short, but I'll make it longer once I have time.

P.S. Screw you, lying Desmond!!!!

The sun was setting on the beach as Charlie walked towards the waves. He kicked at the sand, spraying it up in his face. He stuttered as he wiped his eyes, and sat down on a rock. He had just gotten back from arguing with Hurley about food rations.

Hurley had been eating a mango and Charlie hadn't eaten for a day, so he kinda got pissed. When he got back, Claire had started to yell at him about leaving the baby alone when he was napping. Charlie just wanted to get away from it all, plus he couldn't find his guitar. He sighed, a wee bit downhearted. He reached down, pulled off his shoes and squiggled his toes into the sand.

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up into the dark brown eyes of Desmond. "Hey, how's it going, bruthah?" Charlie stared out at the sea. "Not good mate. Just having one of those days, know what I mean? Have any flashes of me dying lately? I'm sure if I heard how I was going to die next, it would cheer me up fast."

Desmond plopped down next to him and wrapped his arms around his legs. "No, haven't seen any death flashes so far. I'll tell you when I do though." He looked at Charlie seriously. "You know brutha, I'm here for you. I'll save your life however many times I have to until the flashes stop."

"Des, I think I've finally accepted fate. If I die it should be for a righteous cause. If you see me die for a good reason, do me a favor: don't save me." He looked up into Desmond's eyes. They were so close, but Charlie couldn't. He couldn't abandon Claire. He turned away, but felt Desmond's strong hand on his cheek, pulling him towards his face.

Their lips touched, sending sparks through Charlie's body. Desmond's beard scratched against Charlie's smooth face, making his stomach twist. After what seemed like forever, Desmond pulled away and stared into Charlie's eyes. "I will never let you die Chahlie."
