Son

Gibbs was down in his basement working on making a wood box. Next to him was a crib which held his baby son. Michael Kelly Gibbs-Fornell. He worked on the box quietly for the baby was sleeping.

He heard the stairs creak and watched as Fornell came down stairs, holding two mugs in his hands, "Hey. What are you doing?" He set the mugs down on the table and went over to the crib, "Why are you wood working near the baby?"

"To keep an eye on him, Tobias." Gibbs explained, "I couldn't leave him upstairs, alone."

"I was up there." Fornell pointed out as he picked up his son who was stirring in his sleep.

"You were sleeping." Gibbs went back to sanding the box, "I made the extra crib for this reason…"

"I thought you just liked making things…I mean you've built about five boats." Fornell stood next to Gibbs patting his son on the back lightly, "It's not safe to cut wood and stuff near a baby…"

"I had him far away enough…geez Tobias." Gibbs set his sand paper down, "Calm down. He's alright…he seems to sleep well at the sound of me sanding wood."

Fornell handed the baby over to Gibbs, and grabbed the mugs he set down, "Sorry…I am just very protective. You know that."

Gibbs smiled at him, knowing it was true. Fornell loved his daughter very much, yet she lived with her mother. Who was very freaked out by the fact that her two ex-husbands were married and had a child.

Gibbs rocked the child a bit, "I'm done sanding for now…it's getting a bit chilly down here anyways."

Fornell let Gibbs past, "Should I light the fire?"

"Good idea. I'll grab his blanket and we'll sit by the fire…" Gibbs started walking to Michael's room, "Could you get a bottle for him too? He should eat…"

"Sure thing." Fornell said as he watched his husband and son disappear down the hallway, he smiled to himself.
