Title: Saiyan Prince

Rating: PG-13 (Rating may increase in later chapters)

Disclaimer: I do not own Dragon Ball Z nor any recognizable character.

Author's Note: I wish I could say that this story came to mind and was just begging me to be written, and so here it is. A slave of my own imagination. How sweet! Not! At this point I've practically begged my mind to come up with an idea. Hence my newest work, "Saiyan Prince"

He woke up with a throbbing ache in his head. How long had he been asleep? He inhaled a deep breath and strongly regretted it as a sharp pain ran through his longs. Besides, the air carried a rotting scent of dried blood. He realized with a sigh it was probably his own blood. A shiver ran through his body and he noticed he was cold... in fact, he could not remember being this cold before. It could not be from blood loss, no. Although his whole body ached fiercely, he was pretty sure he was not severely injured. No, of course not! It wouldn't do to have a bleeding, broken body. Not, at least, for what HE had in store for him.

The brick-steel wall was cold against his bare back. And the room itself was chilled by the frozen breeze of early morning. He opened both eyes and realized it was still dark. It probably was too early. But for all he knew there might not even be a window in his cell, and it could very well be barely past midnight. He sighed and decided he should get some rest. He might need it –later. He lowered his head and rested his chin on his chest.

A few hours passed by and he gingerly opened his eyes, slowly savoring the warmth of the flickering ray of sunshine that entered through the small opening on the cell's barded window, and onto his cold body. He heard the tickling water drops as they fell at the corner of the room, the sound growing bolder once a small puddle had been formed.

He smiled, and thought this cell might be the closest thing to nature he had ever been in.

The warmth of the heat eventually healed his shivering state, and filled the room with a welcoming scene of dawn.

He sighted softly. This was going to be a long day.
