I stared at the flock waiting to hear what they had to say. Angel had called a group meeting and everyone seemed to know what it was about except for me. You know some things up when the leader doesn't know what's wrong.

For awhile it was silent in the room, awkwardness hanging heavy in the air. If I wasn't sure earlier I was sure now. They were hiding something from me, something major.

Angel cleared her throat before starting, avoiding my eyes. Maybe she thought that if I looked into them I would be able to tell what was going on, which was utterly ridicules considering she was the one who could read minds. "We've been talking," Angel began quietly still not meeting my eyes. "And we think it would be in everyone's best interest if you leave the flock." She said the last part in a rush as if hoping I wouldn't notice what she said.

To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I had no idea where this had come from, and as I look at there grim faces, I wasn't sure if I wanted to. No, I thought, I better not ask. Why hurt myself more than they already did?

"Fine," I said quietly. "If that's how you feel then I guess I'll just leave. I do have one thing to say though. One day your gonna need my help and when you do I'm not gonna be there." With that as my last parting words I walk out to the balcony and jump into the air. A few feet from the ground I whip out my wings and let them catch me. I them let the wind carry me away from the traitors I used to call family.

"Fine," I say quietly to myself. "I don't need them. I'll save the whole damn world by myself." In that moment I vowed to never look back to the people I used to love. I was on my own now, and I was going to show the world just how powerful I could be.

Hope you like it. Review. Flames are welcome.

Also I'm looking for an editor. I don't give a crap if you're a beta reader or not, as long as you can edit fine with me.
