"One person's craziness is another person's reality."
― Tim Burton
Charlotte stared out of the window from the small, tedious hospital room. The room was almost all white. The only color was the flowers that her mother had
left her early that morning. She reached up her hand and slid it down her hairless head remembering the silky congo pink tinted hair that once grew from there.
"Lottie" she called out
"Right here, Charlotte~!" the other cheered her starlight silver hair standing up everywhere. Lottie jumped into the air and onto Charlotte's bed. "Are we going
to play any fun games today?"
Charlotte looked off to the side "I don't know.. We always get in trouble." The other frowned at this and got up off the bed "You're boring!"
"What? I am not!" Charlotte huffed but yelped when the door swung open. The nurse walked in with her usual scowl. The woman was elderly and had a
temper. Lotti sneared at the hag and made faces at her as she walked by; Charlotte laughed causing the nurse to glare at her "Where did you put your tray?"
the woman asked when she couldn't find it in it's usual location
"Lottie took it" Charlotte shrugged "Ask her"
"I ain't telling you nothing, you old hag!" laughed Lottie her hair bouncing all around as she skipped throughout the room. The nurse clenched her fists
"Charlotte, tell me where you put the tray. Now."
Charlotte's eye twitched "Didn't I already tell you I don' t know? Lottie took it! Not me!"
The nurse tore off the white blanket that was sitting atop Charlotte's lap "Listen to me, you little brat! I don't care if you have cancer! I wouldn't care if you
were dying tomorrow! I've worked at this job to long to put up with brats like you!" she screamed
Lottie jumped up ontop of the nurse nawing at the elder's head "Nobody talks to her like that!" she protested. The nurse grabbed onto one of the hose-like
tubes that were kept with a few other medical equipments. She slammed the tube against Charlotte's frail body repeadtly not seeming to notice Lottie's
chewing.
Lottie walked back into the room after following the nurse out. Charlotte was curled into a ball; shivering. The hose didn't leave a marks but heart like you
wouldn't believe. Lottie crawled onto the bed "Damn hag. Don't you worry, Charlotte! Next person who messes with you I'll bite their head off!" she promised
Charlotte laughed a little then sighed "You know Lottie.. You're my only friend.."
"And you're mine" Lottie smiled "No one else ever talks to me"
"I wish I was cured of this disease.. Then we could run away together" Charlotte sighed dreamily then turned so her and Lottie were facing "but miracles don't exist"
"What if they did?"
