His fingers were soft, slender as they slid over his pectoral, leaving the inky coolness behind. Riku glanced up, their eyes meeting briefly, before turning back to the work at hand. Sora's eyes fluttered closed as breathy sigh escaped his lips, his hands clutching the paopu tree beneath him. Riku's tongue moved to his lips, peeking out slightly as he concentrated on forming the curves and lines of the katakana beneath his fingers. Sora opened his eyes, watching Riku concentrate with a soft smile. He looked down at his bare chest, his hooded sweatshirt bunched at his elbows as Riku's fingers moved over his sun-kissed skin softly. Sora reached out, tracing the heart on his friend's shoulder. He had laughed when Riku had showed him, but secretly, Sora found it cool. It just looked...right, on the silver-haired boy. He had traced it into his skin with a needle, deep enough to scar but not enough to fatally wound him. They had then done Sora's shoulder, doing a crown, like the necklace he wore. Sora reached up, touching the cool metal of the pendant and bit his lip. Kairi had laughed when she had seen the duo's scars, teasing Riku about the heart and how it made him look gay, and Sora about the crown saying it made him look stupid.
But neither boy had found it funny, frowning at her as she giggled and prodded. They hadn't told her about this, their pact. She would probably just giggle and say how gay it sounded.
But neither boy wanted her opinion, or frankly cared about what she thought. "Okay, your turn," Riku said, raising his head and looking to Sora. The brunette looked down and smiled at his painted chest, the wetness of the paint still glistening lightly in the moonlight.
"Okay," Sora said softly, taking the small black pot of black paint. He dipped his fingers in as Riku pulled his vest off and tossed it next to Sora's discarded t-shirt. He smiled softly as Sora's fingers started to trace the same katakana on his pec, spreading the glossy paint. They would cast off tomorrow, off to new worlds. They had promised each other that they would do this pact with each other and then share a paopu. Riku said it was just in case they got separated for some reason that they would end up together.
Sora had tried to get Kairi to come, to do the pact with them, without really explaining all the details. She had just snorted, rolled her eyes, and said she wasn't letting either boy's fingers near her chest in a while.
It wasn't like either boy would actually enjoy touching her chest anyway.
His fingers were soft, persistent, spreading the paint along Riku's lily- white skin. Riku closed his eyes, his breath coming softly through rose- petal lips, his legs folded underneath him and somehow managing to stay balanced on the broken tree. Sora's finger dipped, and swirled, before he pulled them away and lightly blew on the wet skin as Riku did the same to him. They both then sat back, smiling at each other as they regarded their new painted skin.
"Zutto," Riku said, holding out his hand. Sora smiled.
"Zutto," he answered, slapping their hands together. Their laughter carried across the island, quieted by the ocean as they gathered their shirts and started to their own houses, dreaming of what tomorrow would bring.
Author's Comments: Short ficlet. This was inspired by a picture, but I lost the link ;;; 'Zutto' means 'forever/always' in katakana. does dad in 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' impersonation So, there you go. This was not written as a shounen-ai story. If you take it as such, that is your mind working there, buddy. So no 'omg u wrote a storee wit yaoi in it and no warnin!' Whatever.
