Chizuru's point of view
Today started like any other. I woke up got dressed, greeted the captains, and ate breakfast.
Breakfast was the same as always. Heisuke and Nagakura fought over the food. Saito , Kondo, Toshizo, and I sat quietly and ate. it was too early to start a conversation. At least that's how we felt. sano and souji, on the other hand, didn't. think so because they talked and laughed the whole time. sano snuck in a glance or two in my direction when he could. which, like always, made me blush. much to his satisfactions.
after breakfast I stared my chores. I was almost done when hijikata-san walked up to me.
"chizuru."
I glanced up at him "yes, do you need something, hijikata-san?"
"you will be joining me on patrol today."
"ok, but today isn't the day I'm suppose to go on patrol." I replied confused.
'that doesn't matter if you are or not, your coming!" he yelled which made me flinch
"yes sir." I whispered
soon we left for patrol. at that moment what seemed like a normal day made a unexpected turn. when we stepped pass the compound gates, what did we find? a child. a young girl, that looked to be around the age of five, siting on a large rock drawing something in the dirt with a stick. the young girl had long blood red hair and blue eyes. I looked around hoping to see if any one was there with the child, but found no one. I sighed and walked over to the child and knelt in front of her.
"Hello"
"Hi" replied the young girl
'What's you name honey?"
"Kaiya."
'Hi Kaiya. My names chizuru. How old are you?"
"Four" She announced proudly.
"Four, wow! That's very old!"
The girl nodded her head happily.
"Kaiya, can you tell me where your parents are."
The young girl looked at the ground sadly.
"Gone" The young girl sniffed.
Chizuru looked at her in shock.
"What do you mean gone?"
