I lie next to her at night.
When I need a vacation
From all other humans
I caress her soft cheeks
She moves a little closer in her unconsciousness
I kiss her soft lips
She remembers me in dreams.
They haunt her
They torment her
They are her.
I wipe away warm tears
That stream down her icy cheeks
Like the rivers of pain
That carve caverns into her skin
She begs me
She begs me to take her away
Away from this place
These people
This life
I won't
I couldn't
She calms
But only for a moment
I am a comfort
Her chest rises and falls steadily
I have to leave
Another soul calls me
So, rest for now sweet Liesel
One day I will be able to hold you
My sweet Liesel
One day far from now
When you are old and content
For a short moment in time
Between this life and the next
You will be mine
You will be Death's Liesel.
