After much thought I have decided to do a group of oneshots that are outtakes from my story Hikaru magic. Some of them could have been in the plot but for some reason or another they were not put in. If anyone has any suggestions for me to add to them feel free to tell me in a review or PM.
Oh! Another thing the oneshots wont don't need to be read to understand the plot of Hikaru magic, and vise versa. If there is something that will help in understanding the oneshot I will mark it and add a footnote at the end. That is all.
Heihachi's first 'test'
There were many ways to see if a child possessed magic. Ever since people have been aware of magic, they have made, in their opinion, foolproof ways to see if someone had magic or not. Many books were even published on the subject. Many of the authors agree that giving the potential magic user a shock would work. Unfortunately some desperate relatives took the meaning of shock as 'traumatizing and getting away with it.' Heihachi believed in the philosophy, and used it on a small unprepared Hikaru.
One such 'magic test' occurred when Hikaru was just a baby.
Heihachi and his wife were enlisted to babysit Hikaru while his parents got much needed alone time. Heihachi's wife went outside to water the garden, leaving an unprotected Hikaru alone with his revenge seeking grandfather. (1) With his wife out of the way, he quickly took the friendly neighborhood cat and put him next to a giggly Hikaru.
Originally putting a cat close to a baby wouldn't be too traumatizing or revenge worthy, with the exception of the usual dangers of a baby near a cat that enjoys the smell of milk on a child. However if a revenge seeking grandfather were to say sprinkle catnip on a baby and then place a cat next to the baby, the baby is potentially in danger. Mentally he imagined the cat becoming enraged in its catnip induced haze and attacking Hikaru. He then imagined Hikaru crying from being scratched to death and, eventually, saving himself miraculously.
His plan was quickly foiled by the cat mearly cuddling little Hikaru and Hikaru happily cuddling back. They both then fell asleep cuddled together for warmth and confort. (2) Before he could find another way to make the situation dangerous, his wife came back. She took one look at the small orange striped kitten and her black haired grandson, before squealing happily. She then suddenly ran out of the room. Heihachi barely blinked before she was back with camera in hand furiously taking pictures.
Heihachi glared at his blissfully asleep grandson, he would get his revenge yet.

(1)In chapter one of Hikaru magic, Hikaru as a newborn used Heihachi as urinating target practice, and Heihachi vowed revenge.
