Hey guys! I haven't been on the site in a LONG time, and haven't updated. I've decided to rewrite my stories. I won't be able to update frequently yet as I'm busy with my original stories. So for now, I have this. I'm super sorry, but hope you enjoy.
Red.
That was all she could see.
Red.
It was cheerful in the beginning. Her red hair. Red lips. Red flowers. Red sunset. Red wine. There was a ballroom. Everyone was laughing, dancing, talking. She took in the scene before her. A hand touched her shoulder. She looked up and saw him smiling. "Come on," he said. "Come dance." She laughed and joined him. They danced and danced till their feet tired out. She smiled, eyes sparkling. She was happy.
But then the scene changed drastically.
Everything was red.
But it wasn't the same.
The sky was filled with red storm clouds. Red dust was blown by the harsh winds. The red blood of innocent victims spilled into the ocean. Her hair was red. Her lips were red. Her eyes were red. Everything was red. She took in the scene before her. A hand touched her shoulder.
It was him again. But this time, he wasn't smiling. He was upset. Exhausted. Fearful. He pleaded her to stop. To stop hurting everyone. To stop listening to… it. "This isn't you," he said. "You're better than this."
She looked at him thoughtfully and came closer. She saw him relax slightly. Then, she formed a fireball in her hand and threw it at his heart.
Arsyn woke up with a gasp, breaking into a cold sweat. She clutched the sheets, chest heaving, trying to calm down, inadvertently waking up her husband. "Arsyn?" he muttered. "What's happened?" Arsyn didn't reply, continuing to take deep, shaky breaths. One look at her trembling figure, and Ciro was completely awake. "Shhh, shh," he whispered, his arms wrapped around her. "It's alright, it was just a dream." He continued running his hands through her hair, wiping away the tears. "You died," she whispered. "Again. And it was all my fault."
"It was just a dream. I'm still alive, see? The kids are perfectly fine in their bedrooms," said Ciro soothingly. "You're not a monster. It was just a dream." Arsyn closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder, trying to believe his words. But she knew there was another meaning to the dream, she just didn't want to know what it was.
