Another PoT story from me XD. Umm… sorry bout this story since I finished it within 10 minutes I think… yeah XD Anyways..

Goodbye

He pushed her wheelchair gently, minding the little stones that scattered across the grassy field.

She asked if he could take her to their favorite place, and so he did.

He was watching her face carefully. Even though she was suffering, she tried to fight back the pain and smile. And he loved her for that.

When they finally arrived, he carefully halted the wheelchair to a stop under a big tree. Then he carried her, bridal style, and sat on the gap between the huge roots of the tree, putting her on his lap.

"You okay?", he whispered on her ear.

"Un…as long as I'm with you." She smiled ever so brightly at him, though he could sense the weakness in her voice.

He leaned her head to his chest, which she happily obliged. She listened to the steady beating of her heart.

"What does it say?" he asked her wile stroking her hair comfortingly. Beneath his calm composure, his mind was running over a thousand thoughts.

"Umm…that you love me?" she giggled. A sound that was music to his ears. He willed a smile and said, "Yep…you're right…"

Minutes passed, they just sat there, enjoying the cool breeze of the summer wind and the gentle chirp of the birds.

They would talk once in awhile, then return back to their position. Him, arms wrapped around her protectively. And her, kept close to his chest.

They were like that until the sun set and the stars started to appear on the night sky.

He was a bit startled when she held his hand. And her hands was unusually cold, then she spoke.

"Kura..." her voice was so soft he strained to hear it.

"Yes?" he answered. Then he started to get nervous.

"I...love you...very much..." he looked at her and saw that she was smiling, her eyes closed.

He held her hand back and said, "I love you too... so, so much..." he lifted her hand and kissed it tenderly.

She was so touched by his words and actions a tear rolled down her cheek. She can feel it. It was coming.

"I won't forget you...ever... Thank you Kura...for everything you have done for me... If you weren't by my side...I wouldn't know what to do..." her voice cracked with emotion. Still, she was smiling, but her eyes betrayed her. Tears started to flow uncontrollably from it, blurring her vision.

His eyes widened by her words. He understood it. He said nothing for a while. He just pulled her into his arms and caressed her back while rocking back and forth.

"No...thank you..." he said.

In that exact moment, no words were needed. Their hearts communicated in a way that they understood it perfectly.

Moments passed in comfortable silence.

And then she spoke...

"I'll always watch over you... I love you very much..." she touched his cheek and kissed him softly on the lips. When she pulled back, she smiled and closed her eyes.

Slowly, her hand started to slip from his cheek. Yet he held it tight.

"No...please... Just a little bit more... I love you... Please..."

And then her hand slipped away from and laid down gently on the ground. Her head was slightly tilted on the side, pale yet magnificent still. And her lips, they were still smiling.

He stood up, eyes shaded, and carried her. For a while he looked at the heavens.

Then he felt something warm trickle down from his eyes across his cheek.

She was gone.

"Goodbye, love."
