And I'm sorry, but Mello and Matt were apart for four years... not eight.
"What makes you think you can fucking do this to me?!" Matt shrieked. He was mad- no. Mad didn't even begin to describe this blistering rage he was feeling. He was so beyond pissed.
"Matt, I-"
"No, Mello. I don't see how you think you could leave me alone at Wammy's, practically disappearing off the face of the Earth, not once contacting me for four years-four fucking years, Mello!- and then you just show up on my doorstep expecting me to just carry on with whatever crazy-ass plan you have!"
Mello looked down to his feet. He had never pissed Matt off this bad. And it wasn't like he could deny anything his redheaded friend had said. It was all true.
"Matty, please. Just-"
The blonde's words were silenced when the redhead's lips crashed down onto his own. The kiss was passionate, and Mello could feel exactly what the gamer meant by it.
I love you. Don't ever leave me again. If you do, I won't want to live. I need you, Mello.
When he pulled back, expression and voice softer now, Matt said to his lover, "I'm ready for this crazy-ass plan you have, Mels."
And then he smiled. It was that smile that made Mello desperate to keep his goggled friend alive. Even if it costed him his own life, he would keep his Matty safe and out of harm's way.
No matter what this crazy-ass plan might entail.
