let me hold you FOREVER

a/n: apologies to Nic Sparks for not finishing your novel "Safe Heaven". This story had been bugging my head for days. :)

"I hate both of you!" the blond haired gal declared the moment Grey announced her exclusion to their next mission. And what added to her anxiety was that both of them were holding their smiles afraid that they'll be bursting into laughters in front of her.
"You know it's for your safety Lucy-chan," Natsu said, still suppressing his wicked smile.
"Whatever! Don't you ever get near me again, traitors!"
The next moment, a pair of boots passed by them, stumping.

.

.
Thin lips pouted, trying to stop a sob to come out.
I HATE THEM!
Her visions were a bit blurry, yet she continued walking towards- Soil brown eyes widened in disbelief as its owner realized that she was taking the wrong path; and instead of heading home, she was on the otherwise going out of Magnolia.

Such realization only added to the depression she was feeling, and the more her mind debated on going back or taking a step forward, the more her heart gave in to the sadness she was feeling. Tears finally stream down unto her peach cream face. It came down uncontrollably, washing away the emotions slowly eating her up. Her thoughts wandered on the times they've fought, feast, got drunk, journeyed, slept and had fun together.
'What will I do without them?'

.

Unconsciously, she took a step forward. But before her boot could set foot on that asphalt road, a hand gently held her arm.
"Mati kudasai," an annoying voice called her.
Brows met, her gaze met those of the dragon slayer. Her heart skipped a beat. "What?"
Natsu sheepishly smiled. "We're going!"
"What-wait!"
Her hand nestled unto his, perfectly fitting as if it was made for such preference. He continued dragging her to their waiting comrades, and...
there was not nothing she could ask for.
