Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Dunkin Duncan" from Season 6. Enjoy and comment.

Rusty, Rheneas, and Skarloey, enjoy puffing through the countryside.

One day, the three engines went to help Duncan at the incline railway.

They enjoy working at the incline railway, because of the way the loaded slate cars roll down the incline, pulling the empty slate cars up.

However, Duncan doesn't like working at the incline railway. He is always impatient, and always wants to go back to the junction.

Often, this leads to trouble.

Rusty hoped that Duncan would stay out of trouble, but he was already impatient.

"I'm a plain speaking engine." gruffed Duncan. "Hurry up with those slate cars!"

Then, Duncan steamed away.

"Bossy boots!" chuffed Rheneas.

"Pushy puffer!" huffed Skarloey.

The two engines didn't like Duncan telling them what to do.

"He just wants to get back to the junction!" said Rusty.

Duncan wanted everyone to work faster.

"You're supposed to be helping me, but you are slow as snails!"

"We're as fast as can be!" said Rusty crossly. "We follow the rules."

"We can't send up more than four slate cars at a time!" chuffed Rheneas.

"Well, hustle then!" snapped Duncan impatiently.

Later that day, Duncan was working the incline.

"I'll show them how fast a really useful engine can work!"

Duncan began shunting one freight car after another, and another, and another!

Soon, Duncan had his four freight cars.

"Look at me!" he boasted to Rusty.

"Those slate cars will pay you back!" warned Rusty. "Slate cars don't like to be shunted!"

"I can handle slate cars!"

The three little engines knew Duncan wouldn't listen, so they puffed away with cars full of slate.

Soon, Duncan became more impatient and careless.

"I'll show that silly diesel and those lazy Steamies!" he told his driver.

"Careful." warned his driver. "All you want is trouble."

And soon, he got it.

Duncan didn't realize his chain was tangled in the slate car in front of him.

Suddenly, he was being pulled up the track by the empty slate cars!

"Oh dear!" cried Duncan.

Duncan's driver managed to jump clear.

Rusty soon returned to see Duncan being pushed up the incline.

"I tried to warn him." Rusty said to the driver.

"He never listens!" replied the driver.

At the top of the incline, the chain snapped, and Rusty plummeted down the incline at warp speed!

"HELP!" he yelled.

But it was too late! Duncan and the slate cars fell off the tracks, and into a muddy ditch!

Duncan felt foolish, and very wet.

Sir Topham Hatt soon arrived. He was beyond, and I mean BEYOND cross, and spoke in a very severe tone to Duncan.

"You are a very disgraceful engine!" he said sternly. "Your impatience has caused confusion and delay! Now apologize to the engines!"

"Sorry." Duncan said to the other engines.

"And after you have been repaired, you will be locked in your shed until further notice. Then after your punishment, you will work the incline until you have learned to be careful and patient."

"Yes sir." said Duncan. I wonder if he's learned his lesson, don't you?
