Haunting

It all seemed so typical, that it was hard for Bella to believe something was wrong. For anyone who knew her, as well as her—well, if you could call him that—boyfriend, the present scene would not look unusual in the sense. The two, though very close, were still, not moving about wildly in passion as someone might expect of a high-school couple who seemed so madly in love.

To Bella herself, the current moment was a situation that normally took place, and made it difficult for her to remember that something was terribly wrong, and it was difficult to see unless you were in her position, mere inches away from his gorgeous face.

However, it was not the cold feel of his fingers and hand as she grasped it tightly; this was something she had grown used to. As a vampire, his skin would never feel warm, but it was always comforting.

It was not his lips, also cold and still, which she had pressed hers onto for a few moments. Edward always remained careful, guarded when they were, if at all, 'physically', but only for her benefit. He did not want to hurt her, lose himself in a moment and forget how delicate Bella's humanity really was. His skin, paler than what should be, did not disturb her, and in the small streak of sunshine coming from the window, glistened with an unearthly beauty.

The reason Bella knew that Edward was gone from her that she kept being reminded of was his eyes, his stunning, ever-changing, emotional eyes. They could change from golden topaz to black as night, depending on his mood.

But each time when she glanced back at his face, she realized that they were gray. The blank, gray, haunting eyes that stared up at Bella as she had been sitting with him for hours constantly reminded her that he was dead.

Morbid, I know.

-This has no real particular timing, but if it helps to be slightly less confusing, most likely not at a time of great conflict, such as when James was after them in Twilight, or right after she had saved both of them from the Aro and such in New Moon, or when they were in the tent in Eclipse.

-In the Twilight universe, the only real way to kill a vampire is to tear him up into pieces and burn him, I'm well aware. But—it was for the sake of the drabble I like drabbles best.

I'd like your input, and real input. If you thought it was awful, tell me. If you liked it, tell me. But when you're writing your review, remember to tell me why. It helps.

Thank you
